NHS 12 Weeks Plan

I'm going to try and lose weight with the free NHS plan and wonder if anyone else wants to join me/is doing it already/has had success with it?
I'm about 18 stone and 5'4" so eventually I need to lose about 10 stone, but that's much too scary to think about, so for now I want to try and lose 7lbs by Christmas.
A few things standing in my way:

  • hypothyroidism
  • anaemia
  • anti-depressants
  • breastfeeding a 9 month old baby
  • greedy guts
I do all the cooking in our house but DH is tall and skinny and eats lots of bread, crisps and sweets. I'd like to get him on the same plan for his health, not to lose weight. We also need to scale back our spending quite dramatically, which means no more takeaways or ready meals, or nice coffees and cakes out. I also have a massive problem with portion control. 90% of what I eat is very healthy, I just eat far too much of it. So if a recipe states that it serves four, I am going to make it serve four (two meals).

No experience of it but it sounds sensible, fingers crossed it will work for you and the 7 lbs goal sounds doable. I have done the thing of 1400 cals and balancing calories so if I eat less one day I can have more calories another day and vice versa and it worked really well but was a long time ago.

At least you can look on it that cutting coffee shop treats is a good way to cut calories aswell as save money!
