Wedding in September, need to drop 7 pounds in 7 weeks!

I'm getting married in about 7 weeks. To my horror I found I had gained about 5 pounds since I last tried my dress on! It does fit but is a little too snug. I had always intended to drop a couple of pounds pre wedding in preparation for the honeymoon, but now I really need to pull my finger out. I am logging on mfp and trying to do 20-30 mins exercise a day. I think with support this is achievable, but I have form for doing well for a week then getting bored. Anyone want to buddy up for motivation and support?

Thanks Biwi for the help. I saw the lentils 100g ( 95 cals) as protein not carb. Right I'll have soup with veg and a bit of ham.

Noticed on the military diet that the last day there was hardly any veg ( yet ice cream which I don't eat). Can't get my head around that. So should we not be eating too much veg. Like I said earlier when I was eating just protein and potato for my colonoscopy ( I didn't get weighed) but I felt much thinner.

I'm feeling completelY mystified by all of this and I thought I was a person who had it all Sussed!

The thing is, veg does contain carbs - people often don't know that! However, they also contain lots of good nutrients, so these are good carbs to eat. (As opposed to carbs like pasta/rice/bread).

If you want to low carb to lose weight, you should be eating a diet high in fat, with medium protein and low carbs. So an ideal meal would be something like roast chicken (making sure you eat the skin!), with lower carb veg, like spinach or leek or fennel, for example, using butter in the cooking or putting butter on them when they're cooked, and served with a salad with an oily dressing on it.

Dowser- the military diet is not a healthy diet to follow long term, I too don't eat ice cream so I had a large glass of milk instead. I read some reviews online about it most people lost weight but not all kept it off. I have stuck to 1250 calories a day and have been pleased with the results. I don't think I will do it again but it did give me the boost I needed to keep going.

I have been logging on MFP for 2 weeks straight, I never normally get past about 5 days as I give up. I think the panic of fitting in the dress is working. I'm going to try it on again at the weekend.
Two- I think a little more freedom needs to be given at weekends. dont feel down about it. There is still plenty of time to lose.

Hi everyone how is it going? Have ye weighed in? Do the dresses fit? I have not yet managed to buy a bikini for my holiday but I'm going to have a look today. A little over 6 weeks to go and I have put on weight i now have 9lbs to get to my goal. I'm what you call a disaster dieter. Not to worry ill cop on now and give it a good shot

I'm doing ok. Not sure if I'm losing. I've been unwell so not had an energy except for existing. I need some sunshine.

Going away for two weeks so that is going to be a big danger zone. Right off diet.

I only do well when I stick to my routine.

twobambinos · 29/07/2015 11:05

Its hard not to indulge when you are away. I def plan to life is too short .

twobambinos · 29/07/2015 11:07

Hi I've had a few bad days, have kept up with the exercise but gone over calories on about 4 days. Not too worried as according to scales haven't put any weight on, but need to step it up a gear to lose more. I have about 4 weeks to go. Going to try dress on again this weekend for a better idea as I think I look slimmer but not sure if that's wishful thinking!
