Has anyone used Reductil?

My friend just told me about Reductil pills that can help you lose weight. She reckons she has lost 10kgs in a month. She has had a couple of side effects - dry mouth, sleeplessness and a couple of other things that I can't remember.

I am very tempted,...but also scared! Has anyone else got any experiences? Would you recommend it?

thanks for the info mellowma
I looked up Reductil on the internet and it says that they work as appetite suppressants by doing something to the seratonin levels in your brain, so that you feel full more quickly.

My friend looks brilliant - but I'm still wary - I think it's because of the fact that it alters something in your brain...

thanks
the thought of losing 10kgs in a month is great! i could be thin (ner) by Christmas! I reckon I need to lose about 3.5 stone and this would be a good start. BUT it's really expensive and I don't know if I can cope with the lack of sleep!

My friend says she is going to do 1 more month. She has already gone down 2 dress sizes :O

These are centrally acting appetite suppressants. By that I mean that they will help you lost weight by acting on the areas of the brain involved in appetite. They do not affect the rate at which you burn fat - just your desire to eat. They are only effective if you are trying to diet anyway and will help with the hunger pangs. They are stimulants which is why they cause sleeplessness.

My Mum has taken then didn't like them due to heart palpitations and sleeplesness. She also wasn't really trying to eat less and was hoping they would magic the fat away. At the end of the day it is still calories in, energy out it's just one way of helping to control the calories in. My Mum has recently started taking rimonabant (this is the generic name not the trade name, not sure of that) and the weight has ben coming off nicely. She has tried everything over the years and has found this to be the most effective. Rimonabant is a CB1 antagonist, it affects the same cells in the brain as cannabis but in the opposite direction. So whilst cannabis gives oyu the munchies, rimonabant suppresses the appetite.

I would be very wary of taking these. I don't have any medical complaints but I tried these a couple of years ago and my heart rate speeded up really fast I thought I was going to have a heart attack! I was really scared. I never took them again. I joined Weight Watchers and lost 3 stone gradually which, I know is very boring, but is the best way to do it as it will stay off. The fact that these pills are only given out by the doctor in special circumstances and anyone else who wants them has to buy them over the internet says it all really. Maybe check with your doctor first if you really want to give them a go.

hi tried these a few years back and I experienced really bad side affects.I really would recommend you try a diet(even if it is a faddy one if you just want to be slimmer by xmas) than try these.palpatations and the shakes were just part of it.
