New thread

That's lovely WWB (even in the pic, where I can't really see it properly). I love those asymmetric hems. I think they had shrugs on Simply Be, and on either the Curvety or Curvy Diva sites (remember linking to a few, but not exactly where).

WigWamBam · 19/11/2006 10:41

I know you found a couple of shrugs, I think there was one on the Simply Be site.

Evans have one, but it was much more expensive - £28, I think, and I'm pretty sure the Simply Be one was less than £20. Will have a shufti later on!

JackieNo · 19/11/2006 10:48

Hmm - there's an expensive one , but also a cheaper velour one . The full selection is here .

WigWamBam · 19/11/2006 11:00

Hmm. There was a little lacy one, I'm sure there was ... will have another look at last week's thread in a bit. Thanks!

I think the lace one came with this dress here ? Not sure if that is the one you mean? I only get the home page on evans site so cant see your dress

WideWebWitch · 19/11/2006 16:50

Wow, well done wwb! And dottydot. I'm really down. Have just discovered I've gone UP a bloody size, despite a week of being better than usual. Well, I thought so but obviously I bloody well wasn't. Feel like going on Slimfast for a month or something but am aware that this isn't the answer really. I'm pre-menstrual too so feel especially hideous and grumpy. That and being 40 recently AND buying extra wide shoes (have always had wide feet, even when I was a size 10 so that's nothing new at least!) today beause I can't bear being uncomfortable at work has all contributed to my feeling utterly miserable and upset. Thanks for listening.

I think my trouble is I eat/drink less all week and then get to the weekend and undo it all, rendering the whole exercise pointless. And I always get to a certain point and think 'oh I look ok' (which I most definitely don't atm) and give up and eat and drink merrily again. fffffs.

Dottydot · 19/11/2006 19:04

Awww - WWW - PMT week is horrible - and it might just be water retention pushing you up a size? I've had a splurgy weekend as well... lots of red wine last night and tons of gluten free (but sadly calorie laden) biscuits and scones! Hope this week is better for you, and maybe try those sizes in a couple of weeks, after P(ost)MT and all that!

WigWamBam · 19/11/2006 19:17

Oh, WWW ...

It's probably the fact you're premenstrual that makes you feel as if you've gone up a size. Water retention is a bugger.

Slimfast's not the answer, it won't help you with your eating and if anything will probably make you more likely to binge.

Sounds to me as if being pre-menstrual has got you feeling down about yourself - maybe a nice, hot, bubbly bath and a glass of wine would help?

Littlefish · 20/11/2006 13:11

Lots more on Sue's Website - some on week 2 and some on week 3.

Did anyone go to the London meet up? I'm sure Sue would love an update.

JackieNo · 20/11/2006 13:13

Thanks Littlefish.

Littlefish · 20/11/2006 13:16

WWW, please don't beat yourself up. PMT makes anyone feel awful at the best of times. I always feel at least twice my usual size, and in fact, make a point of never going shopping just before my period comes - it's just too depressing.

I second WWB's prescription of a hot bath and a glass of wine.

See how you feel in a week's time, but I think WWB's right that slimfast is not really the answer. (I think you secretly know that too!). Yes, it would be a quick fix, but would it really help you in the long run? Remember, we are all here for the long haul. I've been posting since the beginning, but not trying to lose weight until my emotional baggage is more sorted (I'm seeing a counsellor).

However, I have to admit to feeling extremely when I see the weight losses of those who have really stuck with it, for 7 months now. It is worth considering the long journey, not just the short sprint.

We all understand how you feel, and are here to support you.

Littlefish · 20/11/2006 13:17

Sorry WWW - just read that back. It's not supposed to sound patronising. Ignore it!

WideWebWitch · 20/11/2006 18:46

It's not remotely patronising littlefish, thank you for posting!

MrsJohnCusack · 21/11/2006 07:22

hello a littlebitshy . Did you survive the rest of your trip OK? You had appalling weather...it's still bloody freezing at nights
And well done on dropping a size WWB - so exciting. and well done all others and hello Bonkerz.
I thought my broadband was being installed today but it's the 25th - sob, sob, sob. But now I have dial up at my house (only had it in my parents' garage before) so all is not totally lost.
The good news is, I unpacked my scales today and they tell me that I have only put on 6 pounds whilst pregnant (and I think I'd just lost 5 of those on BigMoFos - it's so long ago now). Woohoo! I can't believe I'm actually suceeding in my goal of not piling on weight. 14 weeks to go and I intend to continue the good work AND be on here much more.

JackieNo · 21/11/2006 09:26

Yay - well done MrsJC - so are you all unpacked, and is it starting to feel like home now?

MrsJohnCusack · 21/11/2006 09:30

nearly all unpacked
still have 5 boxes of books (out of 31) and about 6 boxes of CDs - they have no homes to go to at the moment.
it is starting to feel like home. will be better when mattress finally arrives though - sleeping on heinous blow up thing - well I decamped to the sofa last night as I am a bit of a cripple thanks to the unpacking/carrying and what threatens to be SPD on the way. It's all lovely though - but am feeling strange now we're living 'normally'.

JackieNo · 21/11/2006 09:34

It's the books that do it for me, make it feel like home, that is. Sounds as though you need to take it a bit easy, though - did you have SPD first time round?

MrsJohnCusack · 21/11/2006 09:40

only a tiny bit at the end. this is much earlier. But I have been very bad and have done an awful lot of lifting/shifting stuff. It was worth it though....

the books though - I never want to see another one as long as I live - I really didn't realise how many we had. and the CDs/DVDs - it's disgusting really. the CDs are mad because DH worked for music retailers for so long so we have about 4000. ridiculous.

got to go to bed (or sofa!)
back soon

Dottydot · 21/11/2006 15:18

Junior!!!!

Dottydot · 21/11/2006 15:18

I'm soooooooooooo excited!!!!

JackieNo · 21/11/2006 15:27

Me too, Dottydot. Was in floods of tears reading it. It's just made my day completely. Daniel, eh - lovely name, and in age 6-9 month clothes. Might be able to find some stuff to pass on (although she may end up with more than enough, if everyone else on MN does the same).

WigWamBam · 21/11/2006 17:12

Oh, isn't he gorgeous! Am sitting here in floods of tears after reading that ... soppy old moo
