Keeping pregnancy weight gain under control

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and as usual have gained an awful lot of weight in the 1st trimester. I'm normally slim-ish and healthy and do lots of exercise but find I am very tired through the whole of pregnancy and don't exercise much plus snack a lot on rubbish. Really keen not to gain loads more but not to be really hungry and tired. Please don't say don't worry about it, I'm pregnant. It's my third baby and one of my children is disabled so I need to stay healthy and as active as possible to make life easier, and life can be a drudge as it is without having 3 stone to lose at the other side. I know this sounds shallow, probably because it is, but would love any tips on healthy, non fat pregnancy!! Thanks.

God me too. I'm 24 weeks with my first.

I was 9st 7lb in March 2014, went all inclusive on honeymoon, and haven't stopped eating since!. 13st 7lb last night :o

I'm trying not not to eat snacks and sweet stuff to excess, and eat better (and smaller) meals.

Basically putting the principles I learnt at Weight Watchers without actually following the plan / points.

Thanks marmite. I suppose we all know what to do, it's just managing to do it!! Have bought a juicer and trying to up the exercise a bit plus use my fitness pal app to track food gobbling.

My baby is 8 weeks old, I tried to minimise the weight gain and still managed to gain 3 stone! Lost 29 in the first two weeks after birth and none since (Sad)

Just stick to healthy meals... It's not the quantity of the food you eat, it's the quality. Don't try to eat for two, try to eat to nourish two. Before you eat something, think about how it can benefit you and the baby.

Best of luck! I'm already broody again Smile
