Hello all first post. I'm 158cm and 12.11stones. I'm 33yrs old.I've always been heavy in the chest area. Now I'm mahoosive. Ive had 2 dc close together (3yr and 1yr old). I have a sedentary job, commute abt hour in a car each way to work often longer on way back. I have been a size 12, 10stones (toned as loved the gym and swimming back in my twenties) now with work, home chores, 2 toddlers and started studying for chartership. Feel as tho I've got no motivation no drive and don't even know where to start. I would just like to be 10stones again and lose all the excess flab. Where do I start? Exercise dvds from home? SW or WW?
Thank you for reading and I'd appreciate any advice u can give.

First of all you'll be needing a new username Wink

The diet bit is key, you can't create enough of a calorie deficit with exercise alone to make a big difference. That said, worth trying to build in some exercise every day. Can you park further from work and walk the last bit? walk at lunchtime? Build in time for the gym or a class once a week?
I have done SW to lose a couple of stone post baby and found it fits in well with family life. Going to a class keeps my motivation up. After baby 3 I haven't made time to do this and have used MFP instead but it's too easy to find an excuse to drift away from it.

Good luck with finding a new you!

Lol thank you for replying bakingtins. I work on a large industrial estate with its own parking. I do try and and walk moat lunch time (measured it to be 2miles) but I often have so much to do that I eat my sandwich at my desk. Will try and motivate myself to just get up and go! I'm trying to change diet but I hate cooking, husband is very particular and the toddlers are even fussier so I end up having rice/pasta carby dishes as at least everyone will eat that! Need more salad and less carbs and sugar I suppose. Deffo look into a class for SW thank you

You can have rice and pasta as 'free foods' on SW. Their rule that at least a third of each meal has to be fruit/veg makes a difference. I would 'hide' a few extra veg in bolognese sauce etc and have a smaller portion of carbs and one of those microwave pouches of mixed veg for myself.

Really? I always thought carbs was bad and I should be eating protein and veg. But that's not as nice as mac n cheese or pasta or curry and rice. SW is sounding better and better. Will deffo look at joining.ta x

I'm not sure Mac n cheese would qualify! But there is no need to count/measure rice, pasta, couscous etc which makes it easy to follow if your family meals tend to be based around them. Even spuds are ok if they are boiled, baked or cooked without fat.

My suggestion is not as good as anyone else's but do you have a phone that can get apps?
I have the app that measures how many footsteps I have taken and I find it does make a difference. I do look and when I haven't done enough I walk to the shop instead of drive etc.
