I thought I'd start a thread so we can all have a nosy and see what fellow MN'ers - on health kicks - are eating!

This isn't a thread to see who can eat the least calories, but a tread to prove that you can eat healthily and have yummy foods.

Post if you've had a good day / healthy meal. We can swap tips??

I'm calorie counting at the moment. Today I've had:

Breakfast - a coconut yoghurt and a banana

Lunch - left over spiced carrot and lentil soup from yesterday's tea

Tea - chicken katsu curry with brown rice

Also 3x coffees with milk. Total calories 1232 cals. Usually aim for 1500 but not particularly hungry.

Sounds like a good day Felix. How far into your weight-loss 'journey' are you? (that makes me sound like a complete tosser)

Today was only day one for me, but so far so good. Although I am probably quite carb heavy.

B: 1 small slice of wholemeal toast and humus, yoghurt
L: Potato farl, 2 scrambled eggs
D: Chicken breast, balsamic new potatoes and salad (rocket / red pepper / red onion / radish and tomato)

Snacks: 1 ricecake, 1 apple
Drinks: 2 cups of tea, lots of water

Not entered it into MFP yet but should be under 1200 calories. I am BF'ing so entitled to a few hundred more... I did have a tsp of honey & mustard dressing on my salad and used a glug of olive oil with the new potatoes.

I have a 10 calorie jelly in-case I need my sweet fix!

You can definitely get away with more if you're breastfeeding! Be careful not to go too low as it can have the opposite effect and you'll be wondering why you're not losing anything.

I've been doing it since mid-January and have lost a stone so far. It's slow as I'm not being totally strict but it's all going in the right direction Smile

I am a total serial dieter. I've tried literally every diet going and always give up after a few weeks. This is the first time I've actually stuck to something and I find it so easy. I think it's because nothing is off limits, and if I fancy something I can have it as long as I have the calories left.

Slow and steady is the way forward. 1lb a week is the recommended target loss.

A stone is brilliant, I bet you are seeing and feeling such a difference already?

I am an old hand at this weight-loss malarkey.

Lost 3st in 2006, maintained for a while but gained 20lbs back gradually, lost that in 2009 and then fell pregnant in early 2012. Never lost any baby weight I actually gained weight and have just had baby #2 (well she is 11 weeks now). Was heavier on my booking appointment with DC2 than I was the day after having DC1.

I am officially at the heaviest I have ever been in my whole life [didn't weigh myself when pregnant so obviously I have been heavier!!] I am so sick of it all now.

I am BF'ing so the healthy eating is for baby too, I was eating 'well' but having far too many treats biscuits and cakes were my downfall

Just having a camomile tea, then settling on the sofa for a feed!!

Looking forward to another healthy day tomorrow.

Yes I have dropped a dress size now which is good! My first target is getting down to 12 and a half stone (pre-baby weight, size 14) then down to 10, but I've never been smaller than a size 14 in my adult life. I am 13.10 now so not much more to go to my first target. Got lots of lovely clothes vacuum packed away which will fit me at that weight.

Congrats on dc2 Smile if you've done it before then you can certainly do it again. Do you have a certain target you're aiming for?

FelixFelix · 08/04/2015 21:53

Roar your tea sounds delicious!

IamMummyhearmeROAR · 08/04/2015 22:04

It was Felix! The cous cous was full of mint, parsley, red onion, spring onion and tomato with a mustard and olive oil dressing. My dh loves to cook stuff like that. Tomorrow he is doing the same with marinated lamb chops. I'm really trying to eat well rather than 'give up'. I've ditched the diet foods too hence the full fat yogurt. A small serving of really good stuff has the same calories as the reduced fat one and it's far nicer

FelixFelix · 08/04/2015 22:14

Roar that sounds lovely! I'd be so pleased if DP cooked me something similar. I agree with the low fat stuff, I've gone right off it over the past couple of years and we also have 'normal' food but in a smaller quantity. The only exception is 1% milk, but that's only because I'm not a big fan of milk and like the watered down rubbish Grin

IamMummyhearmeROAR · 08/04/2015 22:29

Yup same with me on the milk front. Full fat makes me queasy

womanhasbaby · 09/04/2015 06:50

I had a good day yesterday! nearing the end of my 'journey' and getting impatient to see my target on the scales!
I had
B: total 0% Greek yogurt with a sprinkle of granola, honey and strawberries.
L: marinated chicken wrap with lots of salad and cucumber
D: sweet potato jacket with tuna and more salad. balsamic glaze.

Had a plate of pineapple and a little kinder chocolate too Grin
Finding it hard to not wolf down all the littles ones Easter chocolate!
