Managing a holiday away while dieting, suggestions please?

I have been dieting since January, doing really well and feeling generally positive, however, we are going to Wales for a week self catering cottage at Easter. Lovely! Really looking forward to it! I could do with a break from strict dieting and weighing and counting etc, but I am quite worried about going too far and eating too much or still stressing about food and focusing on what I eat rather than enjoying our time away. I need to find a healthy balance.

What does everyone do when they go away mid diet? Do you forget about it and loos any extra weight when you get back home? I am worried that I will lose my momentum if I put weight on I suppose. How do you get back into it when you get home?

Also, does anyone have any good tips or recipes for while on holiday? I have been no carbs since January so hoping to maintain that, tricky with picnics and fish and chip suppers!

skip breakfast or lunch each day : just have fluids instead - leaves plenty of calories for the sociable meals

It's hard. If you're sc you should be able to control breakfast. I usually have an omelette with onion.

So, I would have brekkie . I don't eat bread. You could take a flask of soup out with you for lunch .Maybe a rice cake or two. Acquired taste I know and then let your hair down for dinner .

I start off ok and then it goes pear shaped as my resolve weakens. You could make sure you do extra walking/ go for a run.

Let us know how you get on.

At least its only a week! Also, its a good opportunity to eat some of the things I have been avoiding like nuts.

We do self catering in a caravan. I use it as an excuse to have all the things I would love normally but are a bit more expensive. Total yogurt instead of Lidl, mini cheeses, little bags of nuts, prepared pots of berries, smoked salmon, tuna steak - this is making me hungry.
