I've decided that tomorrow is the day that I start my new healthy lifestyle. I've said this a lot over the last year but I'm committed this time.
I'm fed up of being fat, having no energy, feeling rubbish and looking rubbish.
I miss nice clothes and feeling confident in myself.
Could you recommend the best diet for me? I can't decide between 5:2, slimming world and calorie counting with my fitness pal?
I walk for at least an hour a day, I'm a SAHM to 3 DDs, the youngest is 2.5 yrs so exercise would need to fit in with them.
I'm going to give up alcohol completely at least for the first month.
What do you all think? Smile

Sorry forgot to add, I want to lose 3 stone. That would get me to a healthy BMI and the weight I was on my wedding day Grin

you need to work out what 'diet' works for you. I hate being restricted by type of food so can't low carb etc. 5:2 works for maintaining for me but not weight loss.

I lost 4 stone using FoodFocus (same as MFP) logging all food and exercise and staying within 1200 calories (before exercise). I'm back using it now as that pesky half a stone has crept on and I know its the only way for me to lose it. 1.5-2lb a week so will be good to go by early Dec Smile. I use this method as nothing at all is banned - you can eat whatever you like, just maybe not as much Wink. Shred is good for exercise as only 20 mins and my DC used to love climbing over me when I did it and they were similar age to yours.

I hope you find the way that suits you Smile

Thanks Summer you are right. I have tried all three of the diets over the last couple of years, done quite well lost a stone or so and then got bored and stopped. And put it all back on.
I think you are right about restricting food, low carb would make me miserable Grin I will have a look at the shred I'm sure DD3 will love to join in.

I am currently calorie counting and went out for a run earlier so earned a few more, but if I can't have a glass of red in front of an open fire on a Sunday evening watching Downton, then life isn't worth living in my book Grin

AgentBartowski · 12/10/2014 21:05

I couldn't agree more, well... I don't drink red I like white and I don't watch downton but the sentiment is the same Grin

To be honest theirs no quick fix. Initially I started on jp shakes and capsules. They worked but mainly working now I'm not on them. How is it that? In a nut she'll it taught me how to eat clean. Now I am. It's easy to follow. Changed my life for sure. Can pm me for more info. However now foods like sweet potato. Chicken and veg or some other recipes helps. I'm a rep but even if you want healthy meal plans without the jp products. Let me know and I'll email you a file of 150 odd recipes and that's a free none advertising helpful way. Also clean eatting is simply cheaper n saves money eatting properly on your food bill. Shamazing or what x
