I know I'm putting it off but I keep looking at different diets and I am confusing myself more and more. I need to lose a couple of stone at least but I'll be happy if I could lose a stone by Christmas.
I'm short and 11 stone. I've been convincing myself I'm a size 14 but 2 dresses ive ordered this week are both too tight. . What worked for you?

5:2 has worked for me in the pars and since the kids have gone back to school I've started back on it, I feel so much better on it and am hoping it's something I can keep up for good, not so much a diet really.
When I started it in January I was 14 st 6 lbs, now I'm down to 11st 6, although I had got down to 10st 10 before summer hols, which sent me a bit off track, so getting back to it again and have lost 4lbs this week :-)

Pars should be past!

SW extra easy works for me. Realistically, to lose a couple of stone, you need to be sticking to the diet for 4-6m, then to keep the weight off you probably need to be able to keep to it 80% of the time, whether that's having one fast day a week on 5:2, having more syns on SW, few more carbs on low carb boot camp. If you go back to eating as you do now then the weight will pile back on. What is it about how you eat now that has caused weight gain? Portions too big? Snacking? Processed food? Which habits need to change?

I like SW because it encourages home cooking and more fruit/veg, it works well for family meals, and I don't need to weigh anything or count calories. Keeping an honest food diary for a few days should show you where the problems lie, and can be enough in itself to make you eat better.

My biggest downfall is snacking. I can be a bit of a binge eater too. I did try slimming world but didn't like the 'group therapy' session, maybe it was just the group I went too though.
I'm shopping tomorrow

Slimming world for me as well...I'm 2lb off losing 6 stone.

I don't stay for the meeting if I'm doing fine, just the first couple till I got the hang of it and now I mostly weigh and go.

I think all sensible diets work as long as you stick to them.
I am a binge eater too, but I have never had problems cooking healthy meals from scratch. At the moment MFP works well for me. I plan my day ahead, including a sweet snack every day. I have lost nearly 2st. in 2 months.
