I had an emergency c section 7 months ago with my little boy... my cesarean was not a normal one as i had to have a 'J incision' which meant I had a bigger cut up my belly and lost 4pints of blood (nearly died!!!) during my pregnancy I put on 3 stone and since giving birth I have put on another 2 and a half stone. Unfortunately I have a had postnatal depression and turned to food as a comfort. Since ive been feeling betterI have bbeen alot more active...I walk everywhere as I dont drive I started taking up running but have only been once so far as I lose my breath quickly.
Has anyone got any advice? I used to be a size 10 and now im a 16-18 I can feel myself sinking further into depression and cant even look mirror anymore Sad

Firstly be kind to yourself you have been through an awful lot.
Maybe get a pedometer and that will measure how many steps you take. I think the aim is 10000 per day.
Also with the running can u download a free app such as endomondo or runkeeper to your phone. Take it slow and build up slowly your distance. Don't try to do too much too quick or you will get injured.
I do quite a bit of exercise myself and unfortunately I have only just realised that to lose weight it has to be a combination of sensible diet and exercise so u may need to make changes to your diet. It might be no harm to talk to your gp about all this too don't they say to consult your gp before major diet and lifestyle changes

Be kind to yourself and you will lose the weight in time. I hope you feel better very soon

I agree about seeing your gp.
in our area there is a gp health referral that gives reduced leisure centre fees and trainer support in the gym, is that something that would interest you? also, there is An app called my fitness pal, which helps you track food and exercise which is quite good Grin

I've had 3 csections, the last two were 15 months apart and I am no expert and struggling myself, but I have learned a few things along the way that you might find useful Wink.

Exercise is excellent as it improves your mood, but after my DS2 I was killing myself doing at least 8k steps and doing the 30 day shred every single day. I was also constantly on a diet - low carb, dukan, the list was long. I was losing weight, but very slowly, averaging out at 3-4lb a month.

After my daughter I have no time for exercise. I have 2 babies under 2 and both are bad sleepers. So I walk, but that's about it. And I do my version of 5:2 where I cut back to about 700-800 calories twice a week and try to eat sensibly for the rest of the week. Basically I am not killing myself as I figured that my poor body deserves a little time since it's been through hell.

The weird thing is that my weight loss is identical to the last time - I know as I have myfitnesspal records from last time and this time. I still have a long way to go, but my point is, don't kill yourself running if you are not comfortable. Be gentle to yourself and it will still happen.
