Nobody?

I'm eating clean(er) as part of Mutu system 12 week program. I lost 5lbs in the first fortnight and tummy is better. Also doing core strengthening exercises for the weak-bellied over stretched mum tum.

Ahh hello! Nice to hear from another that's trying to eat clean. I've never heard of that plan before. What would you typically eat?

bakingtins · 23/09/2014 07:10

It's mainly aimed at getting rid of the saggy belly post childbearing, but it's quite holistic, so it includes advice on eating clean, physio exercises to strengthen your core and high intensity interval training. I'm only a couple of weeks in, but prior to that was following a SW type diet which tends to mean home cooking everything anyway. Mutu suggests making a couple of changes each week so this far I've swapped to wholemeal pasta and brown rice, introduced a spelt/sesame/pumpkin seed mix and chia seeds to my morning porridge, cut out caffeine and cut alcohol down to once a week.
do you recommend the book you mentioned? I could do with more ideas to try, does it include recipes?

rootypig · 23/09/2014 07:11

Er.......no. Grin. But do check out the deliciously ella blog for recipes and very pretty, inspiring pictures.

There's an app too, that lets you menu plan I think (I haven't used it)

Hey ladies,
Yes I would 100% recommend the lean and clean book, he has also written one dedicated to flattening your tummy that's a good one too!
The author James - I think - is trainer to top supermodels and actors. It's very interesting and informative about why we store fat etc and how eating unprocessed food benefits the body. Also goes into excersise sleep etc.
It's all common sense I suppose but I like knowing science to it too. A really interesting and inspiring read.
I have lost inches and have tons more energy and Ive only been following the plan 3 weeks xx

Bakingtins tell me about mutu please

bakingtins · 23/09/2014 22:51

Google Mutu system. It's an online 12 week course run by a British physio, aimed at improving post-pregnancy midriff. Combination of core exercises which you are supposed to do twice a day ( less than 10 mins) a daily walk, advice on clean eating, and high intensity interval training, which I've just started in week 3. It works out about £5 a week for access to all the instruction videos and a FB support group. You get lifetime access to the materials after the 12 weeks is up, or you can buy a set of DVDs but think that is similar price. There was a "core only" option which was cheaper.
I'm enjoying it so far, the only thing that irritated me was I only found out after signing up that I needed some equipment ( yoga mat, ball, resistance band, weights) though she does suggest household items you could use rather than buying them.
