Including diet drinks.
I drink far too much coke, the full "fat" one.
If I'm honest I can drink between 4 to 6 cans in a day, which is dreadful. Far too much sugar and empty calories.
I also drink sweet coffee and tea, so that's next on my list to address.
So, usually I would have already drank a couple of cans by now, so I've cut out completely and drinking water and green tea during the day instead.
As a treat in the evening, I'll either have a normal sweet tea or green tea (which I enjoy with half a sugar.)
So, I've been reading online that on average a can of coke has roughly 150 cals, so by drinking 4 cans I'm consuming 600 empty calories a day.
The following was a revelation for me, if you consume 400 or more calories a day from soft drinks, you can eliminate a minimum of 146,000 calories each year by removing it from your diet. This amounts to a potential weight loss of at least 42 pounds in 12 months.
(I've decided not to move onto diet versions, as I feel if I'm going to do this right than water is the best alternative.)
I know this looks so obvious, but I really have in my mind weight issues connected to food only.
So, does anyone care to join me?
Just think 42 pounds in 12 months is 3 stone. Even if you decided not to make any changes to your diet, providing you do not substitute for any other high sugar items, you can lose weight as well as benefit from all the health advantages too.
I'm hoping that I've turned a corner today.
