Oh God the Headaches!

Yesterday was day 1 of cleaner eating. I was still up at 3am with the worst migraine I've ever had.

Breakfast - One dippy egg and half a slice of toast.
Lunch - Salad with half a chicken breast - raddish - egg plant - mushrooms - tomato - lettuce - spring onions.
Dinner - Chicken wrap - half a breast, one wholemeal wrap, lettuce and pepper.

Lots of water all through the day. I felt full and energetic.

Is this normal?

Oh yeah. I'd say so. When I cut out sugar, the headaches were horrible - dull, achey, and went on the whole day.

You'll be please to hear though, I toughed it out and it only lasted 2-3 days. After that, no problems.

If there's an end in sight I'll stick too it. I just want a macdonalds with a large coke.

I hear you. I could have attacked people in the street for their food. I was obsessed, it was in my every thought! But in a sense, that hit home for me how much a change was needed.

It really did only last a few days for me with the headaches. The cravings were a little longer, but only about a week. Do stick with it, it is so worth it! Before I made these changes, I always thought people who claimed to be rid of craving entirely and who now found sweet food "too much" were smug and absolutely talking about their arse. Then a couple of months after cutting out junk food and white carbs, I found I could only handle tiny portions! I had a slice of cake, and got about half way through and felt like it was way too much! I could not believe it!

Do you suffer from migraines? If you do then not eating enough food can set one off in a big way. Fasting and going without food for long periods can also trigger them.

JudysPriest · 17/08/2014 14:50

I do Milly, however I'm eating often and good wholesome food at that. I'm not hungry, I want grease and sugar and rubbish though.

That's true Scouse, I do like my junk food, like really love it. It's not hunger, pure craving. Not good.

You might want to eat more "clean" food for a week or so (1800-2000kcal / day) until the sugar hangover is over. Then you can reduce your calorie intake.
