'Ideal' weight (or BMI) for height & age calculator?

What I want is a calculator that will tell me what weight I need to be for my height and age, to have a BMI of say 22.5, or 24 or whatever. The NHS one is good but only tells you what you currently are and you can spend ages inputting various guessed weights to 'trick' it!

You won't get a single ideal weight but you will get a range for your height, from a chart. Age is irrelevant to BMI.

OK- I was wondering why the NHS one asks a) your gender and b) your age before it asks your height, weight and activity level?

Is this the one you're using Tansie? It does give a healthy weight range in the results under the bmi result but it can only ever be a range because people are different shapes - I'll never be at the bottom end of my range and still be a healthy weight as I'm naturally large hipped and curvy so need a little extra weight iykwim.

Yes, that's it, the NHS one.

Being 51, I know I will never realistically be 9st 8 lbs which is what a 22.5 BMI requires for my height! I'm currently 11/4 and aiming for 10/12 right now (i.e. 'under 11')

I think you have the right idea there. You should aim for a healthy and achievable weight for you, within the healthy bmi . As you get older it is reasonable to aim for the higher end than the lower.
