Demented and Codfather - thanks for the encouraging words. I've dieted before, but usually lose interest somewhere around the 8 week mark. Now, when I start to waver, I remind myself that the extra weight crept on gradually, and that it will also go gradually, so I need to be patient! I realised last week that I have subconsciously adopted the misguided idea that a few weeks of being good should correct years of eating whatever I wanted! Wouldn't it be nice if it really worked that way? I'm determined to stay focused and motivated this time around, and rid myself of the extra weight. By declaring it here "publicly", I can be accountable (in the nicest possible way), and supported. It helps to know that there are people cheering me on.

Codfather - I have been walking around all day saying to myself "if you don't fancy a carrot then you're not hungry."

It's only my second day and I would normally have broken it if I hadn't seen you're words of encouragement. They definatley (spelling) made me think twice. I ended up drinking alot more water instead of eating.

I've written them down as well.

Do you have any others that can keep us going.
