yes it is good. you eat loads and still lose weight. i have lost 12lb in seven weeks and i havent stuck to it religously every day.
example menus of what i eat:

Green day:
B- 28g oat crunch, sliced banana, muller light
L- 2 jacket pots, tin baked beans, 28g cheddar, muller light
D- quorn bolognese with lots of pasta, 42g mozzarella, fruit or mulle light

snacks- fruit, muller light, pasta n sauce or savoury rice

unlimited diet drinks all day

red day:
B- same as green day
L- bacon sarnies on two slices med wholemeal bread(1.5 syns), fruit or yoghurt
D- salmon or steak with lots of salad, fruit or yoghurt

snacks- yoghurts, fruit, whole roast chicken or two, wafer thin ham

i use my syns usually in recipes or for the odd biscuit or something

i have done WW and starved on that but as you can tell i dont starve on this

Mandymoo · 03/09/2006 21:01

are muller lights free foods then? I'm only having one a day but could eat more but i thought they had syns value

the normal muller lights are free as are most other yoghurts that are less than 0.1% fat. the muller light cakes are syns but not alot. the apple pie and cherry bakewell are 1 syn per pot and the lemon cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding are 1/2 syn per pot. i generally live on mullerlights when im doing slimming world, it also ensures i get enough calcium as i dont like milk.

There is normally a good list of free or low syn ready meals etc in the magazine. the new one is out now i think

I think it's great. There isn't any need to be hungry as there is so much free food you can eat. I tend to snack all day on things like grapes, strawberries, apples and bananas. I also have crabsticks and carrot sticks. They do the hi-fi bars that are really nice, and a healthy extra, so I have one of those mid afternoon as a replacement for a twix or something. The Mince Pie ones are flippin' gorgeous.

I always do red days. Today my lunch was a jacket spud and cottage cheese, followed by a tub of fresh pineapple. For my evening meals I have things like steak or gammon and jacket spud with peas, or chicken with oven roasted carrot, courgette and sweet potato. I do sweet potato chips instead of real chips and can have that with a plate full of ham and a fried egg.

I've lost 1 stone 5lb on it over about 10-12 weeks. There is honestly loads that you can eat to stick to the plan.

oooh yeah, i cant wait for the mince pie hifis to come out again. im partial to choc orange ones at the moment

Hi - I'm a new mumsnetter and haven't posted much. So big hello to everyone.

I am however, a bit of an evangelical SW person. I've lost in total : 4 stone and 1lb!!. I'm managing to keep it off - in fact it now seems quite hard to keep it on (sorry!). It is a brilliant way of eating, you never have to be hungry and you can eat loads, which is actually quite hard to get your head round when you start. I mean, whoever thought you could have a cooked breakfast whilst on a diet, or unlimited pasta and potatoes come to that.

Good luck to everyone following the plan.
