VLCD - a bit concerned

I've been doing Slim & Save for 5 weeks now and lost an incredible 18lbs so far. I want to stay on it for another 2-3 weeks to hopefully get to goal, however in the last week I have started experiencing some heart palpitations and it's worrying me a bit. My heart is beating quite fast and I am aware I can feel it beating in my chest iyswim and it's a bit uncomfortable. Is this normal on a VLCD? Could it be because my blood sugar level is lower than normal or because I am in ketosis? Anyone else experienced similar?

How much coffee and/or coke are you having? Also are you doing lifestyle or just the packs? I'd try reducing caffeine , maybe you are more sensitive on the reduced calories? And do lifestyle to see if this help. I get dizzy (must take my blood pressure to check it). Have you asked on their Facebook group?

I'm doing just the packs. I have 2 cups of decaf coffee a day, so no caffeine at all. I do smoke (I know, no lectures please!) Maybe I'll try adding in a small amount of veggies with my evening pack to see if that helps. Thanks

If that doesn't help try 2 days lifestyle, as long as you stick to the veg/protein weight allowance it won't slow you down.if it doesn't stop then go to your GP :)

Just adding I don't smoke so I don't know if that is causing it? Could be the chemicals in the fags lol

Could you pop an iron tablet as well ? I had heart palpitations and it turned out I was anaemic

smoke and starve are not a good combination. The nicotine hit will be stressing your body even more.

if the diet doesn't give you sufficient nutrition (which is almost certainly the case) then yes, you could be anemic.

a trip to the GP sounds worthwhile.
