Sureslim (5 years on and getting fatter and fatter)

Hi,

I was in a local playcentre and saw a leaflet for a weight loss company called "Sureslim". They say they tailor diets to suit individual metabolisms and also use blood tests results to get an idea of why weight loss is difficult.

There is nothing on their site indicating costs, but I imagine it costs a fortune and having wasted so much money over the years on different diets, I wouldn't want this to be another one.

Thanks

Yeah. Will be a money making scam

Cut thd sugar and take up some exercise...

I exercise 3 times per week, but since my Mum died and I had my son 5 years ago I have binged ever since and cannot seem to stop. I wish it was as easy as just cutting out sugar :-(

don't waste your money on this obvious scam. You know why you are fat.

If you have to pay for anything, let it be counselling or therapy to help your deeper issues.

but start with your GP. Good luck.

I did Sure slim, it isn't a scam. I lost over 4 stone, 11 years ago. It took about a year, and I went for weekly one to one weigh ins. The diet is low carb, I found it really tough at the beginning but having shelled out a few hundred quid was enough to keep me motivated. You don't pay for the weekly weigh ins, its part of the overall cost, so I think I really got my moneys worth.
Having said that, it didn't stay off. I got pregnant as soon as I reached my goal and over the next few years it crept up, but only because I ate loads of chocolate and didn't stick to it. I think the weigh ins are what kept me motivated, and left to my own devices I fell off the wagon.
The year I was following it, I felt amazing, and really thought I'd cracked the dieting lark (life time of yo-yoing).

I know of 3 others who also did it, also lost weight, felt great. And like me they gradually put the weight back on. But isn't that the same for all diets?

Yes it is the same for most people and most diets. The test with any diet is to check in with the dieter a year or two down the line and see if they have kept the weight off. Why pay someone to tell you to eat less. Whether its low carb, low sugar, low calorie, semi starvation or whatever. Listen to your body carefully. It will tell you when you are genuinely cant wait a minute longer to eat, hungry. Eat whatever you want then. Chew and savour and stop as soon as you are satisfied. You need to relearn how to eat normally again. Get some books on emotional eating to understand where you are at. Good Luck.
