How to reduce a MASSIVE appetite and stop overeating carbs!

I have tried pretty much all the following:
Low carb
High carb
Mediterranean diet

I have just found, if I am low which happens frequently at some point in the day, hormonal, tired or bored I search for carbs, I don't mind what form they come in, I overeat them, it doesn't matter if it's wholegrain bread, "fine milled" oatcakes, cake, biscuits, chocolate... come 3pm I have usually overeaten, and then I feel sluggish, tired, sick and demotivated. I am very hedonistic, as soon as I take a bite I want to keep going!

I tried introducing more exercise into my day but I found the first day I felt exhilarated, but the next day I felt exhausted and low afterwards, and I had a furious appetite for a few days following exercising.

I don't want to give up, but I get frustrated with myself, I wonder if anyone has any (healthy) ideas for hot to combat a rather veracious hedonic appetite?

Eat LOTS of lean protein. It will fill you up for ages.

Keep boiled eggs Etc in fridge to snack on

The Harcombe diet is great for reducing cravings (I don't know how to post a link Blush It is restrictive for the first 5 days and then you reintroduce foods, but after the first 3 days it's incredible how you just stop craving sweet things and carb heavy foods. I did it and lost 10lbs in 6 days (my starting weight was 13st 2. I am now eating primally/paleo and only have carbs from fruit and veg. Good luck Smile

I would recommend reading Eating Less by Gillian Riley. It's not really a diet but a look at the reasons why we overeat and some tips for bringing it under control.

5:2 might help. I find it easier to say I can't eat anything, than to try and reduce how much I eat. Your problem could continue on the 5 normal eating days though.

You really need to try and help yourself by not having any cakes/biscuits/chocolate in the house. If you feel the urge to eat something try having a big glass of water and setting a timer for 30 minutes. If you still have the urge after 30 minute then eat something, but that way you will be more aware of your hunger.

I personally am not anti-carb. I think they have there place in a balanced diet, the trick is to find the balance.

I have overeaten for years. carbs in particular. look on amazon for the Beck diet solution book. im finding it really useful in challenging the thinking that leads to binging.
