Watching........ As I need to too.

I'm sure it's totally possible..... How many weeks to go?

I've just had a couple of days away and have realised that I've ballooned massively. Gradually over a few years but quite alarmingly since summer!

I need to exercise and eat less and cut out all the crap but I have such a sweet tooth and just can't stop picking in the evenings.

Maybe we can inspire each other?

I think you could lose a stone by Christmas but as it's only 5 weeks away and healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week you're probably better off aiming for half a stone.

As for how, that's completely up to you.

I've recently lost over 3 1/2 stone just by reducing portion size, eating more veg and less carbs and taking up running.

Good luck.

I've dropped a dress size in just over two weeks by totally cutting out snacking and sticking to three meals a day - usually porridge for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and whatever I fancy for dinner, including a mince pie for dessert most days last week! I've also been walking for an hour a day (at least). I haven't felt hungry (apart from a bit of rumble tum before meals, which is normal) or deprived once.

I can't tell you how much I've lost but I've gone from an 18 to a 16 without any effort really. I started this because I was sick of fad diets/yo-yoing and wanted to make a simple, sustainable change. I've been snackless for three weeks on Wednesday and I plan to stay that way. I don't want to think in terms of goals - this is more about having a healthy relationship with food - but if my 16s were looser by Christmas, that'd be smashing.

Oh and one more bonus - for the first time in my adult life these past two weeks, I have felt not a smidgen of food related guilt. I can't tell you how liberating that feels.

Good luck :)

Wow FakeAngel well done. That sounds fab......

I've been good the past few days as I'm away and not had much opportunity, I'm gonna keep up the goog work when home and see how it goes. I'm also determined to start running and so will reinstall c25k.

Wow, yes FakeAngel - very impressive and very well done. I am trying to break my weighing scales dependency/ starting the week with good intentions and finishing with a wine related slump. So - out goes the alcohol from now til Christmas, including weekends, and in comes sensible low carbing and maybe a bit of 5:2 too. I'm not so overweight that I need a miracle (size 14) but am scared of heading back into old bad habits and getting bigger.
