Is there any point in trying to lose weight whilst breastfeeding?

I had my second child 9 weeks ago and am breastfeeding. Basically, i HATE the way i look at the moment. I am 2 stone overweight and am still wearing maternity clothes. Nothing makes me look good atm. Other mums with the same aged children are wearing mini skirts and crop tops ffs!!

Can i try and diet whilst bfing? Whats the best and healthiest way of losing this extra weight?

TIA X

OK, when you first go in, you pay!! Then you line up to be weighed. This is done in private, the queue stands well back so NO-ONE sees yor weight, what you have lost/put on, exceot the person recording the weights on each persons chart. Then you sit down.

The class itself is usually split into 2 or 3 sections. First there will be a talk on a theme, eg picnic, BBQ's, Ice lollies, 'speed food' (foods that can speed up weight loss, like melon etc) Then there is image thearapy (dull) this is where the consultant will look at everyones weightlosses/gains and everyone will clap if you lose 1/2 lb or whatever. She will ask if you are happy with your loss/gain, or if you know why you gained weight (eg Drank loads, or partied hard!!) If you need additional support she and other memebers will give you tips and ideas. Lastly there are the weight loss awards (stickers for every 1/2 stone yo lose) and 'Slimmer of teh Week'

The tone of teh class is usually really fun, everyone heckles and comments and there is always someone who has done something daft. Also there is always someone who has done well and can offer advice (for instance one week I lost 4lbs and I swear it was brown rice! I swapped my usual pasta and poatatoes and white rice to brown!) O

Other weeks there maybe recipe tastings where people bring in food to try (nothing fancy) news on new products and how many syns they are etc. It is good fun honestly, not like Majorie Dawes, everyone is friendly and it is worth trying.

On your first week try not to take toddlers as then you can concentrate when teh consultant explains the plan. However any questions there is the SW threads and there is the website (which as a member you can acces FOC) it has loads of recipes, meal plans support etc,

Good luck

MRM, BUT just think you will be a happier mummy. It isn't expensive really I have lost 3 stone and paid about £120 (over the past 6 months) I think most people would pay that to lose 3 stone??

It does sound good. you're sellimg it to me! But at the end of the day, I know in my heart that the onlt thing I really need to do is find time to run again. Then the good eating becomes worthwhile, and I get all inspired.

well mrm I am also running (see Runners Rehomed in the sprts section) I started about 2 montsh ago (I was going to the sym before that) as I wanted c challange to do a 10km run. I did it last weekend, so I am signing up for another one in sept/oct to keep me going. I run for about 2 hours a week (25 mins 3 morning before work and school runs) and 45 mins at the weekend. Your dh has to be helpful though and my kids are old enough to get themselves ready for school (5 and 7) so I run at about 7.15 or so,
