Hi
I have been given £100 for my birthday to spend on myself.
I need to lose weight and try to feel like a human again rather than vomit covered heifer.

Have 3 month old so not fit ATM and have baby all day every day so it needs to be something to fit around us.
Was considering DVD (insanity or shred) but not sure if they are short enough to do home in the day with a baby

Personal training - may give me motivation if someone can look after baby...

Or Sod it and buy bigger clothes.

Any suggestions??
Thanks

I've just completed the shred, I managed to do it over the summer holidays with my eldest off school and a non napping toddler! It's literally 20 mins. It would easily fit in with a napping baby or content baby watching after a feed. I enjoyed it, and it's really toned me up. Lost 2in around my middle. The DVD cost a fiver, so 95 left for clothes after your 30 days!

A pair of good trainers..... Join a buggy fit group. And a get an iPod? Download c25k to do when you get a chance to leave baby with someone

HeySoulSister · 09/09/2013 23:09

Yeah, you should have enough left over for shred too! Smile

I really need to loose weight and I know I need to get fit but I have arthritis in my feet so walking is agony I don't know what to do

A personal trainer will cost you around £40 a session and in 3 sessions will make very little difference. I'd buy some nice soft jersey from Hush and give yourself a break.

Sorry I hear that sonlypuppyfat. Could cycling work?

Was actually given iPod for birthday too so will check that out soul sister!

And snowlie, that's probably the most likely scenario ;)

Lem31 I might have a word about a bike for Christmas, thanks for the idea.

snowlie · 11/09/2013 09:26

When my babies were that small I walked everywhere and that knocked off a few pounds.

sonlypuppyfat · 11/09/2013 12:24

Snowlie I love walking but I can literally feel the bones in my feet grinding against each other its agony

snowlie · 12/09/2013 00:07

sonly rowing is good too and weight lifting/resistance work - a circuits class with the right instructor.....but most weight loss is down to diet - your health will benefit from exercise though.

BsshBossh · 12/09/2013 09:28

I agree with snowlie: exercise is very important for heart health and general well-being (and resistance work in particular is excellent for building muscle and therefore increasing the number of calories your body naturally burns). So... do whatever exercise you can, but focus on diet to lose weight. 5:2, calorie-controlling, WW, Slimming World, low-carb... whatever floats your boat.

I lost 3 stones doing calorie restriction on MyFitnessPal (no exercise at all except a bit of walking) then 2 stones on 5:2 fasting (and exercise including weight training).

Diet is something you can definitely manage at home with a small baby.

As an aside though, when I was on maternity leave I lost all my baby weight by taking DD on long buggy rides around the park and my town - I timed hery naptimes around my walks.
