Is this doable?

I've just been creeping up and up in weight ignoring it and the time for going up has stopped! I am currently too scared to weigh myself probably about 130-140lbs though and I am thinking of aiming for 110lbs, am 5'2''. Is this reasonable? I've also no clue of how long it'd take, I have a big event at the end of October but is that too soon?

I have no ideas of timeframes or anything. I think 5:2 wouldn't work for me so am thinking about either low carb or low cal as I find counting to a set number works better for me. (I also need to get started on the exercise!)

I'd definitely recommend low carb as the easiest and most reliable diet to lose weight with - believe me, I've tried them all! There are lots of websites to give you tips etc (including a good section in the Mumsnet "Life & Style"). It really worked for me (I lost 53lbs and have kept it off for 3 years now). Low cal didn't work (and was really hard to stick with!). A weight loss of about 1/2lbs per week is achievable for most people on low carb. Going by your height, your BMI isn't too bad at the moment so if you go low carb and lose about 2lb per week, you could be 16/18lbs lighter by the end of October! And remember - it's not just about getting slimmer, low carb is healthier too. Good luck!

Thanks. I think low carb is the way to go. The only thing that gets me in low carb is the fruit. I love it!! I've got lots of reading to do
