have been told I have to slim right down to 11 stone... I have been. big girl since I can remember... have joined the gym with a few guys at work ( im very much a tomboy) but to be told I need to be half of what I am makes me sad... I love the way I am and so does my husband.. plus its gonna cost me a fortune in new clothing lol... any one else got to lose a dramatic amount?

Weighing 22 stone will have a massive impact on your health before too long so its vital you heed your doctors advice

I wouldn't worry about any gym going for now. The crucial thing is to get your diet sorted out- weight loss is 80% what you eat and 20% activity.

I wouldn't worry about the clothes just yet. Choose a plan that will fit with your lifestyle and stick to it

have already lost 2.5 stone in the last 2 months... my diet has changed dramatically.... the gym is to stop me from sitting round the house all the time... I work funny shifts and it helps to keep active... think its been more of a shock to think that I will be half the person I am am now... In the past I weighed in at 26 stone then dropped to 19 and now sticking steady at 19.. my friend has done slimming world and weight watchers and they do not seem right for me.... its not what I eat its when I eat.. funny shifts mean I dont eat till 11 12 at night and bed at 1 or 2 am... I know ive been over weight for a long time.. like I I said its the shock of it all
. reality has set I but I think I can do it. ( currently sat eating a orange whilst dh is chomping on custard creams lol) Smile

You can do this! You simply have to.

Keep exercising....it may not hugely helpful in the battle of the bulge but that's not the only reason to do it, it's really good for your heart health, improves bone density, helps to clear gunk from your blood, improves flexibility, lifts your spirits and can be good fun.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/1821405-Anyone-else-with-alot-of-weight-to-lose - come and join us here we are all at different points in our 'new body' challenges!

One thing I have realised is that the only way it will work is if you want it, other people telling you to, or doing it because you feel you should isn't going to lead to any sort of decent long term change. mindset is a lot to do with it. I have dropped from just short of 16stone to just under 14 so far but know I need at least another 4 stone off. I am giving myself 12 months to get that off rather than expecting results overnight.

Good luck!

it's not when you eat - there is no magic clock in your stomach that means that food turns to fat after certain hours. Most of the population of the Med eats very late and they aren't all fat.

it is what you eat and your lifestyle. One of those is much easier to change, but it sounds like you are doing it. Good luck and you won't know yourself in a year if you keep it up.
