5.2 diet book recommendation?

I'm thinking about starting the 5.2 diet as it sounds a fairly simple concept. I've just had a look on amazon and there are loads of books! Can anyone recommend a particularly good one? Thanks

Don't think you need a book unless you want one as the diet is really simple. Have a look at thefastdiet.co.uk and you'll find lots of information and some recipes. The main thing I found was to make sure that the foods you eat on your fast days (500 calories for women, 600 calories for men) are really low in carbohydrates (ie something like scrambled egg - not porridge). I found that this made it easier to fast. Also, for me, it was easier not to eat first thing in the morning. Instead, I had about 300 calories at lunch and the rest in the evening. Hope this helps!

Thank you cathan, it sounds simple enough, do the two fasting days have to be equally spread during the week? And can you change the days you fast week by week?

I did the 2 fast days together which I think is best, but different people find different methods work for them. Check out thefastdiet.co.uk website for ideas.

Come and join us on the main thread, www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/1705483-5-2-Diet-Thread-Number-15-Our-quincea-era

And try reading the hints and tips thread too www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/1581821-Tips-and-links-for-those-practicing-Intermittent-Fasting-IF-5-2-or-Alternate-Day-Fasting-ADF?pg=1

We are on thread 15 now, and there is more information on these threads than in all the books put together.

If you are going to by a book then Dr Mosely's is the best bet.

Ok thanks both, I'll check them out Smile
