since rolling over to the wrong side of 25 and giving up smoking 4 years ago and generally being too busy to exercise regularly. I just cant shift these stubborn 7lbs I eat fairly healthily usual day goes like so no breaky just tea cannot stomach anything else (iv always been this way) lunch could be salad or wholemeal sandwich tuna or egg with salad (homemade bread so only one slice) if im at college it could be a baked potato with butter and salad dinner could be anything but all home cooked from scratch I never overload it with fat or salt or sugar but it normally contain some sort of carb side I probably have a bottle of red a week as well Blush. if anyone could share some helpful tips or point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. I do have the shred and do enjoy all sorts off sports and exercise were and active family I think if I could knuckle down and really shred (or one of her many other dvds I own) everyday this could make a difference. id just like my clothes to fit me again without being horrible tight as they have been for years months. I know I rambled on a bit so thank you to anyone who has taken the time to read

I struggled to lose weight for a long time so sympathise! The last 7lbs are always hardest, and will take longer than the first bit. Here's my tips:

  • Try to get some breakfast down - it does start the metabolism off. I've found if I eat oats (porridge, oatiflakes, or NatureValley bars) I lose more in a week.
  • Make lunch the main meal of the day, with wholegrain carbs and protein.
  • Make dinner light - no carbs, only protein and veg. It's hard at first but you soon get used to it, and it makes sense when you think about it - all you do after dinner is probably relax and then sleep, so your body doesn't need the same calories.
  • Make sure you eat well - five a day, some essential oils, dairy etc.
  • Cut down on the wine - each glass is an extra 100 calories or so.
  • Give yourself one small "treat" per day and have at least one day a week off as it stops your body going into starvation mode.
  • Keep as active as you can.
  • Track what you eat - it gets easier as you get used to the calorie values (or join up to a weight watching programme) - and stick strictly to your limits.
  • Green tea is meant to also help!

Good luck to you!

Green tea or green and mint and or nettle tea helps instead of coffee or normal tea ( I lost 9lbs. when I gave up the ONE cup of real coffee I used to have every morning). Oddly when I have one cup every 2 weeks or so it does speed up my metabolic rate.

Whole wheat grains are not particularly good apart from giving constipation to some people and a bad temper (despite all the publicity) see Wheat belly by William Davis MD. DH and DIL lose weight as soon as they stop eating wheat of any type.

You could look at Paul Mckenna who says to eat slowly ONLY when you're hungry. So it's not necessary to force down breakfast.
