Obviously I'm not taking the children with me.

But having finally decided that this is what I need to do I'm being blocked at every turn.

All my local meetings are at 6:30. I live half an hour's drive from the closest and dh isn't home from work until 6:30 so that can't happen. And if he was home dd (10mths) has her breastfeed before bedtime and dh isn't equipped in that dept.

I can't do WW online because I'm breastfeeding.

All I want is a meeting at 7:30pm! Or another plan?!

Any ideas??

Had a look at SW - slightly bigger choice of meeting times. Do you think I could take children along to the 10am one? Does it depend on the leader or is there a general policy.

Otherwise I could just about make a 7pm mixed meeting (eek!) provided dh could be home early.

Or I might just chicken out altogether...

I'ma big fan of WW, it worked for me but Ireally think all clubs have their place for different poeple- lost 3 stones last year, still a size 12 Grin

Some poeple used t take their kids, especially small ones in prmas or slightly bigger girls who could sit still (I used to wonder about the messages they were getting but anyway). I never did mine though, skipped holidays or just went for the weigh in part.

Our local WW has tons of meetings, think it's 9.30, 11, 12, 4, 5, 6, and the last three you aren't allowed kids at, so they say you can to the first three...

Gingerbear · 02/05/2006 14:13

I never even thought to ask if children were allowed or not! the times I have needed to , I just took DD along with me, but timed it to get there mega early to be first in the queue for weigh in, or later to be the last to be weighed in, otherwise you wait ages and DD gets bored. There are evening and morning meetings around here too. You can go along to any ww meeting, anywhere in the country.
My friend attends ww at work meeting at lunchtimes.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 02/05/2006 14:32

McMudda - if your DD is your only child, why not take her along too? Or indeed other children if it doesn't interfere with their bedtime etc. I took DD along and before her I used to take DS along. I didn't ask, just assumed it would be OK. It was.

Tommy · 02/05/2006 15:42

there were certainly children brought along to my (evening) SW class.

Thanks everyone Smile

I would prefer to do WW. I followed the points system at home (pinched all my mum's WW recipe books!) and lost half a stone. SO I roughly know how WW works and like it. THere don't seem to be any daytime WW meetings anywhere near me. I'm in the sticks so would have to travel at least 1/2 hour to get anywhere. DD is 10 months and ds is 3.5 btw.

You can do WW online - just don't tell them you are breastfeeding! I think you are allowed extra points a day - so just add those to your total - as long as you are following the diet and losing weight it would be fine!

Failing that - if you want a 'weigh=in' go to a chemist that has electonic scales that give a print out - at least then you can't cheat yoursel and it only costs 50p - great if you already have the diet details! You will get more support on here than a meeting anyway and it is at a time to suit you!!

I used to take my baby to class when I went to SW during the day. At the mo the eve class for me is at 7pm and I take my kids, as does my best friend. The kids play in the corridor outside, but if I could leave them I would tbh, my dh finishes his latest job by next week so for a couple of weeks he can baby sit. Then he is working for a few weeks, then hopefully home again. But my kids are older
