Sorry for the late start to this thread. I had an appointment at my gym for an induction this morning.

If you haven't already, put yourself on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Good luck for the week!

Evening all

Meals here today:
B flax "porridge" with cream and blueberries
L butterEd spinach and broccoli with some cold cuts
D bolognaise with courgette "spaghetti" and Parmesan
S yogurt, cream and peanut butter

Need to up my water content. I'm probably only on a litre a day. Thats not going to do me any good

Valdeeves · 07/02/2013 18:34

Postbellum - I feel the same, I can't wait for summer here and if we don't have all that rain again I'm emigrating!
Had another day house hunting with my baby DD, no joy yet.
Felt quite a few strong carb cravings today - it's the weather I'm sure. I really wanted some oatmeal raisins cookie or flapjack type snack today I didn't though.
Mark Apples wife looks Mark's wife looks amazing - would love to have abs like that. I've always had a tummy now post two kids - it's very frumpy looking in clothes.
Breakfast today was scrambled eggs, butter, spinach and Parma ham.
Lunch was half a Boursin garlic and herb, with celery and Parma ham.
Dinner - yet to be decided.

Got to jump the hurdle of getting kids both bathed and bedded, do the shred then cook and housework. Hubby is very busy at work at the mo so feeling the burn of doing the majority of everything.

Valdeeves · 07/02/2013 18:41

Feeling a bit glum today if I'm honest. The washing and housework feels like a never ending mountain to climb. The kids are at that age where they need help with or everything done for. Shouldn't moan but sometimes it's just physically exhausting.
BIWI - I really get what you were saying about slow loss. I am pretty sure I won't lose fast now and will need to exercise to knock it off. This is because the WOE has made me drop my pregnancy weight and its now about falling into the natural weight and maintaining.
Btw - anybody else craving butter?
On the Wright Stuff this morning I briefly caught a little debate about sugar addiction. Also one presenter said that butter is actually the best fat to eat and leaves the body more easily as its natural.

Just been to an extra Zumba class, and it was totally pants :( Think it was geared at the older generation, I didnt even break a sweat Shock

Doshusallie · 07/02/2013 19:01

Ah that's cos your in the Zumba zone black. Hardcore now.

Not that i have ever done Zumba mind. I nearly did by accident a couple of threads ago. Went to what I thought was a Pilates class, stood around waiting for it to start, thinking wow, lots of keenies here, wondered where the mats were etc. in marched mrs motivator with a ghetto blaster as big as my car, starts playing VERY LOUD flamenco type music and everyone launches into the grapevine. I scarpered. No sports bra on and in the Pilates mind set you understand. Oh how we laughed Hmm

Right I'm here with my rollers in (38 today I'm allowed) getting ready to go out for dinner with the girls, and I herewith give everyone permission to have a bevvie tonight! Grin

Dh is thinking of joining me on Boot Camp from Monday, as he's impressed with my progress. Not sure he'll enjoy the two week no alcohol rule though

BTW - I did have a glass and a half of Cava on Friday, but then made dh drink on his own the rest of the weekend.

I'm currently wondering whether he would be better starting on Wednesday, ie after Shrove Tuesday, as he really enjoys pancakes and so do I, so I've still to work out how to manage that one And then I need to think about how we can have a nice Valentine's meal if he is on full Boot Camp, so no wine and no possibility of doing something with berries and cream for dessert Hmm

Maybe he should start on Friday Grin

SavoirFaire · 07/02/2013 19:27

pancakes

I haven't made these but worth a try?

timidviper · 07/02/2013 19:28

Black There is a class called Zumba Gold which is aimed at "oldies, fatties and the infirm" according to my cousin who goes to one. Maybe you wandered into one of those! You are way fitter than me, I am still trying to pluck up courage to try the Gold version!

Was thinking about your earlier posts and it does sound as though your body is having a really good clearout from every orifice. Better out than in as they say, just think how amazing you could feel when it has finished detoxing itself!

I have had a busy day; work this morning, meeting at lunchtime, hairdressers this afternoon then Lidl on way home. Phew! Personal trainer tomorrow morning then, hopefully, an afternoon of peace and quiet to read although I do have a mountain of CPD to do, will have to see how my conscience goes!

SavoirFaire · 07/02/2013 19:38

Feel like death warmed up today. Was flue-y yesterday and not really any better today and DH has come down with it as well (and has thrown up just to add to it). Worst part is the inevitable knowledge that the DCs will be next and the weekend will be ruined as well as part of our week off!

B: Couldn't face eggs, had a bowl of yogurt with cinammon at about 10
L: some mince and veg. Wasn't very nice.
D: Really not sure. Not hungry at the moment and cannot be arsed to cook anything.

Need to drink more water. DH and I are fighting over the two remaining painkillers in the house. He is asleep at the moment, so I could jump in and take them, but that seems rather mean!

prettybird · 07/02/2013 19:39

Recipe looks worth a try - but looks like it is American style pancakes and Pancake Day chez Prettybird consists of lots of lovely thin crepes and sugar and lemon juice

WillieWaggledagger · 07/02/2013 19:42

Dosh I'm having a glass of sparkling mineral water in your honour

timidviper · 07/02/2013 20:16

Dosh I'm having sparkling water too

ShebaQueen · 07/02/2013 20:25

Evening all, had a fab lunch today at Loch Fyne - the perfect restaurant for low carbing. Luckily I got to choose the venue.

I had mussels to start and then pan-fried salmon with hollandaise sauce, samphire and broccoli. It was absolutely delish. Stuck to sparkling water and resisted the vino.

Have a big weekend ahead celebrating my Mum and Dad's Golden Wedding Anniversary so am planning my eating and drinking strategy. Am not confident that I have tamed my sweet tooth yet and don't want to risk losing control and stuffing carbs. Will be having a couple of glasses of champagne though.

Have a good evening all.

Dosh Happy Birthday to you! Henjoy!

NoveltySlippers · 07/02/2013 20:47

Valdeeves sorry you're feeling bit glum today.

littlermissstan · 07/02/2013 21:10

Just eaten half a chicken. Feel a bit caveman-like... Had it with coleslaw and rocket though, so all permitted :) Those pancakes look really good, might have to search out almond meal and give them a go next week...

thenightsky · 07/02/2013 21:34

BIWI We are the same age! I've struggled big time to keep weight off since getting middle aged. Back in my 20s and 30s I only had to drop below 1,000 calories a day to lose half a stone in 2 or 3 days. When I was doing low cal last year I was lucky to get 2 lbs off in 3 weeks.

Good article in the DM on line today that caught my eye re butter... as we suspected

thenightsky · 07/02/2013 21:35

whoever said...'is anyone else craving butter?'... no I'm not, but I AM MASSIVELY craving clotted cream Blush

captainmummy · 07/02/2013 21:50

Black - so, have you weighed yourself post -eeerrrrm,clearout?

craving butter? Or clotted cream? Why don't you have some? I had linseed crackers for lunch slathered in butter (and salt).

Dinner was 2 Lidl 3% chipolatas, and roasted redcabbage. Some Lidl yog and a coffee with cream.

Rollergirl1 · 07/02/2013 21:53

I'm not a chocolate/sweet lover anyway but had a craving and had a nibble of lindt 85% choc (okay a square, had about 3 bite fulls), jesus, that stuff is not kind!

I'm not in the spreadsheet but read every day and you're all giving me recipe ideas and keeping me focused.

I'm still not going below the 9 stone which is my lowest weight since having my children.

I think some of you might not be that far from me. BIWI, you seem to talk about Betwixt the commons? I lived there for about 10 years. Miss it dreadfully. Now i'm in lovely Surrey. Dosh, wonder where you are? You seem to be distance length out of waterloo to me perhaps.

Anyway, keep on keeping on. Having a few vodkas tonight. Is anyone else drinking?

BIWI · 07/02/2013 22:13

Rollergirl, I'm in SW19 (but not the posh bit!)

OP posts:
thenightsky · 07/02/2013 22:20

captainmummy I am craving clotted cream but not having any because I live in the back of beyond and it doesn't seem worth the petrol costs to do a 40 mile round trip to supermarket Grin

Tomorrow is Big Shop day, so I will be satisfying the craving tomorrow evening.

Rollergirl1 · 07/02/2013 22:25

BIWI: Used to be SW11 and SW12 and still miss it after 7 years. Have I not seen a post once where you were talking about Chez Bruce? Used to be mine and DH's absolute fave place to go! I'm sure you could manage a magnificent low carb feast to die for in there!
