here

It combines a cashback deal with WW online offer, so effectively free. Made the decision about whether or not to join for me.

hi can i join ? i joined ww 6 weeks ago lost 13lb since then but still have 5 st to lose! am looking at small goals tooSmile

Hello! Can I join in too? I am returning to WW with the aim of losing 1 to 1 and 1/2 stone. It really worked for me in 2007 when I lost nearly 3 stone after DD. I was able to maintain my weight until I got pregnant with DS. Since DS was born nearly 3 years ago, I eventually lost 1 and 1/2 stone by exercising more and a switch to Dukan. However, I found Dukan very restrictive and as soon as stopped I put on half a stone and over the festive period have managed to put on another half stone.

I need to do something and have realised that I cannot face doing the Dukan diet. I love fruit and veg and although I find it easy to cut back on carbs, I dont want to cut them out completely.

So, I have started a January detox by signing back up to WW online (am loving the new mobile app), pledging to give up alcohol for a month and starting Ripped in 30.

I have decided as I am now 40 that I want to adopt a healthier long term approach to eating that I can maintain without feeling as though I am dieting all of the time. In the short term, I have an urgent need to fit back into my trousers!

Hi all. I got my reply from WWHQ re. Filling & Healthy Portion sizes.

"The benefits of Filling & Healthy days:

  1. The technique is designed to make the plan more flexible and liveable for members.
  2. Members eat Filling & Healthy foods according to their levels of satisfaction so they have freedom from counting ProPoints values and tracking portion sizes.
  3. Members can still eat non-Filling & Healthy foods by using their weekly allowance of 49 ProPoints values.
  4. The approach helps members to develop healthy eating habits and control portion sizes which are important techniques for both weight loss and maintenance.

When should members use the technique?

  1. New members should follow the ProPoints plan to begin with. Filling & Healthy days should be seen as an advanced tool/feature once members have got to grips with counting ProPoints values.
  2. This approach is completely optional so members can choose to use this technique as little or as often as they wish.
  3. Filling & Healthy days can be introduced as a new technique once you are confident members are ready to relax their counting. This could be when/if members are experiencing a weight loss plateau, if they are looking for something more flexible or if they simply have a busy week ahead.

If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely,

Ilze

F&H sounds really interesting, but I still haven't got to grips with PP yet Grin

Went to M&S today and found that they put point values on a lot of products which was nice. Ended up getting butterscotch mousse pots for 2pp each and raspberry and white chocolate popcorn, 3pp per bag. The mousse was loooovely, definitely recommend!

SallyBear · 05/01/2013 20:45

A friend told me about the M&S popcorn, but as I'm only allowing myself 7 points a day it's a no for me sadly. It's great that M&S are doing that with their food. It makes things really easy.

I lost 3 stones with ww last year but during December Ive gained about half a stone. I am furious with myself and feel enormous, although I'm not. It was weigh-in on Friday and I decided to be really good this week but I'm really struggling tonight. After all this time its still difficult. I have a bad chocolate habit.

Sallybear ~ Banrock Station Light is a good wine to try just 2 points for a small glass.

INeedThatForkOff · 05/01/2013 22:16

Members eat Filling & Healthy foods according to their levels of satisfaction

That would work in combination with the Paul McKenna approach, esp. with the weekly allowance.

Has anybody lost weight while BFing by the way? I'm grateful for the extra points but wonder if it's too much.

Didn't intend to start a group as such, but I'm glad we've formed one anyway Smile Shall I start a mire specific thread to see if anyone else is interested?

I don't mind Ineedthat. It's entirely up to you. I think that WW seems to be a minority "sport" compared to Carb Boot Camp et al!

Paws I will look out for your wine suggestion. I may well buckle under the pressure and revert to ProPoints on Wednesday, as I do miss my glass of wine. Smile

Anyway, it's nice to have a smallish group as we will all get to know each other better. We just probably need a title like "2013 WeightWatchers Support Group"

Jahan · 06/01/2013 00:06

Is the f&h plan like slimming world then?

SallyBear · 06/01/2013 07:15

I have no idea Jahan. I remember SW being Red and Green days. I like the WW ProPoints idea with the points per day and the safety net of your 49 weeklies. Most people I know who've been successful with WW have all said that its important to use your weeklies. Stops you feeling like you're denying yourself the odd kit Kat or g&t etc.

INeedThatForkOff · 06/01/2013 08:38

I think I will. I can't see a way to make the thread OP make sense to newcomers if I get the title of this changed, and I think the cashback deal has expired.

SallyBear · 06/01/2013 08:41

I've never asked MNHQ to change a thread title. I'm sure you can, or maybe you could just link a new thread to this one?

INeedThatForkOff · 06/01/2013 08:58

Here it is Smile
