So for all those who have done well losing weight this autumn,
enjoy the seasonal meals, but if you are not hungry, don't graze
and the more active you can be when a teeny bit peckish
the more fab you will look in your party dresses.

have nearly convinced myself

Jingle I don't think so, but hey look, a baseless Internet rumour is born!

Tee, bloody good for you. Can't bear people commenting on food like that, it's like those saddos at the office who go on about being naughty if they so much as look at a picture of a piece of chocolate but them nick all the biscuits. It isn't healthy.

PuppyMonkey · 21/12/2012 18:13

I've been doing that fasting two days malarkey and have been amazed at how easy it is to cure those hunger pangs just by having a big drink of water. Try it.

TeamBacon · 21/12/2012 18:14

Balls.

TalkinPeace2 · 21/12/2012 18:18

Wink PuppyMonkey ; fasted yesterday, tonight is wine and pizza.

PuppyMonkey · 21/12/2012 18:20

Oh God yes never fast at the weekend, that way madness liesGrin

AdoraJingleBells · 21/12/2012 18:30

I'm hungry. I'm going to eat something. Hope you don't mind OP

TeeElfOnTeeShelf · 21/12/2012 19:04

Fasting is so bad for you.

TheCortanaThatStoleChristmas · 21/12/2012 19:40

I think the opposite is true. Always listen to the hunger pangs. But if there is non, don't eat. If you're not hungry, don't have dinner because it's dinner time, wait until you're hungry and eat a meal that suits your hunger, whether that's a few crackers with cheese or a roast dinner.

Agree with the poster that said sometimes it's best to have a drink. I do this often as apparently the body can confuse hunger and thirst. If you're still hungry after the drink, dominos it is Xmas Grin

I recently lost 7lb by refusing snacks when offered, cutting out fizzy drinks and only eating when hungry rather than "Oh it's tea time, best have tea." But everyone is different.

PiccadillyCervix · 21/12/2012 19:42

This thread is weird.

FancyPuffinFullOPaxoStuffin · 21/12/2012 19:49

Thanks to this thread I am now full of Dominos pizza and chicken kickers and cookies

Thank you Mumsnet and thank you £10 off voucher.

FancyPuffinFullOPaxoStuffin · 21/12/2012 19:50

Forgot the Xmas Grin

Expect my 1st January thread to be titled;

How did I get this fat!!!!

You may come and remind me.

LRDtheFeministDude · 21/12/2012 19:53

Um ... this isn't the diet section?

RubyGates · 21/12/2012 19:56

Hunger pangs are your body's way of telling you. you're hungry. D'uh.

Eat little and often. Enjoy what you eat and don't stuff yourself with endless empty calories and all will be well.

It's not rocket science is it?

OliviaPeaceOnMumsnet · 21/12/2012 19:57

Hallo
We have moved this thread to our big/slim topic
Thanks
Happy Christmas

TeeElfOnTeeShelf · 21/12/2012 20:00

It is now, LRD. Xmas Hmm

LRDtheFeministDude · 21/12/2012 20:02

So I see.

Sorry, to explain - it's just, I am quite happily pigging out and the lecture spoils it for me a bit! I'm sure people who appreciate it will find it fine if it's in this section, but it's a bit party-pooper otherwise.

As you were.

TeeElfOnTeeShelf · 21/12/2012 20:22

I wasn't disagreeing. The Hmm was actually to the fact it had been moved, not that you said that. Sorry I wasn't clear!

This really isn't a diet thread. It's a misinformation about diet thread. So not sure why it was moved or who asked it to be!

There's a reason I have this section hidden...

FivesGoldNorks · 21/12/2012 20:25

I agree, nothing bad will happen of you ignore hunger pangs but if you cut portion size and don't give in to every hunger pang you'll lose weight . I'm fairly sure starvation mode doesn't kickbin just if you miss lunch.

LRDtheFeministDude · 21/12/2012 20:26

I asked for it to be moved. Sorry, but I did think it was a bit off to put in in Chat TBH.

I don't hide this section but I want to know when I'm going to be reading stuff that's pushing the 'feel shit about your body, women, for you are all too fat' rhetoric. I don't think the OP meant it that way and I get that it's 'motivational' but it's not 'chat'. It's about dieting and making people feel as if they should be dieting.

TeeElfOnTeeShelf · 21/12/2012 20:28

Agree with you there LRD.

No, but if you miss lunch, you'll overeat at dinner.

Okay, that's the last bit from me. Enjoy your bad information and poor weight loss results.

FivesGoldNorks · 21/12/2012 20:29

Tee I've lost over 5 stone doing just that

LRDtheFeministDude · 21/12/2012 20:30

I take your point.

fedupofnamechanging · 21/12/2012 22:10

I am reading this thread whilst eating Yule log. Oops! May have missed the point.

TalkinPeace2 · 22/12/2012 13:14

I had posted this thread in Chat deliberately.

There are millions of people in the UK who do not recognise that they are overweight.
And that they are condemning themselves to an old age riddled with diabetes, heart disease and joint pain.
It is not self loathing to want to avoid that.

Olivia, please put it back, so that those who are in denial are reminded that lean is healthy.

TrillsCarolsOutOfTune · 22/12/2012 13:26

If you want Olivia (or whoever is on duty right now) to see then you'll have to report your post as they won't necessarily be reading.
