The minute i start it I want to eat.

I want to lose one stone, thats it, no more no less, but I can't even lose a pound at the mo.

I am not lazy, I walk to and from school 3 times a day so roughly just over an hours walking a day and have been using some exercise contraption my brother gave me, but it's the eating thats the prob.

I am always starving. I eat far too much bread but can't think of alternatives, and when i'm bored the first thing I do is reach for the crisps, biscuits or whatever.

HELP

I changed from eating white bread to multigrain and found I stay full longer. I'm trying to lose a stone too and it's hard! Lost 5.5 llbs so far in three weeks though. Eat porridge for breakfast as this fills you up longer. Walk as fast as you can when you walk. Burning fat is the answer - you have to exercise for 20 mins before you start burning fat apparently. Think high fibre and no fat and it should work. Stop putting butter on bread when you have a sandwich and stop cooking with oil. Hope this helps!! I have a weigh in tomorrow that I'm dreading!

Ok, thanks can do all those apart from one the porridge, just cannot eat the stuff.

What about a bowl of cereal and then a peice of fruit if i'm still hungry ??

My worst times for snacking are mid morning and evening.

choose a high fibre cereal then with no added sugar - like 55g All-bran with skimmed milk and a sliced banana; or

40g muesli

50g Special K

2 Weetabix

(suggestions from Rosemary conley! IMO All bran = sticks)

I know what you mean about snacks - I miss biscuits!! BUT I bought half fat Rich teas and it's better than nothing and they are only 40 cals each, for when I'm desperate.

Evenings - hellish. Been going to bed very early so I don't snack! I eat my meal around 5.30 or 6 then by 8 I'm forraging for munchies. I now cut an apple up and sprinkle it with raisins and have that.

Determined to lose this by end of May.

nutcracker · 09/04/2006 14:37

Are snack a jacks ok to have ??

Had a bag the other night and really enjoyed them, but the bags are rather big so wasn't sure wether it was good or not.

Have started trying to snack on fruit of an evening too. Alot fo the time it's not even that i'm hungry it's that i'm bored.

Try writing down what you eat and sticking to about 1500 cals a day. That will give you a better idea of what to eat and might make you think again before eating something! Also don't eat anything that contains more than 5% fat per 100g.

complicated innit!

KBear · 09/04/2006 14:42

the plan I follow is this....

3/4 pint of semi or skimmed milk per day - 200 cals
Breakfast - 200 cals
Lunch - 300 cals
Dinner - 500 cals
1 pieces of fruit - 100 cals (one mid morning, one mid-afternoon)
1 treat - 100 cals
1 alcoholic drink - 100 cals

total - 1500 cals

KBear · 09/04/2006 14:43

oh and here is the kick up the arse you asked for too!

nutcracker · 09/04/2006 14:46

LOL thanks Kbear Grin

Have written some bits and bobs down to remind me, and will get started asap.

How's it going nutty?

calpopscalum · 11/04/2006 18:45

carrot sticks n salsa help me!! (only I'm fondly imagining DORITOS as I dip n eat). Only 1/2 pt on ww! Those Pringles minis are only 2.5 points if you have to have crisps - much nicer than Snack a JAcks! Agre with the multigrain v white bread - same with pasta, it definately helps keep you full. Baked potatoes are good too, and tesco HL toffee cake slices are only 1 pont each and although not the tastiest cake in the world, they satisy a sugar urge.

nutcracker · 11/04/2006 18:49

Hiya

It's going ok. Yesterday I did quite well and today not too bad either, have had....

Bowl of bran flakes with a few raisins
Salmon and salad sandwich
1 apple

Haven't had my dinner yet but will either be having a be good to yourself curry or be good to yourself pasta (feeling lazy Grin

Oh and for snacks I brought extra fruit and humous and carrot for dips.
