Is there anyone doing Weight Watchers online only?

I'm attempting to get to grips with the site and I'm struggling a bit with the tracker - I've not come across pro points before and I'm wondering if I need it explained to me in a meeting.

The basic problem I've encountered is that there's so much 'free' food that I really struggled to eat my 29 points Confused and Ive read that I really have to eat them.

Do you think I should go to a meeting too? Is it now free now that I've paid £38 for the next 3 months?

I am doing WW online and don't go to meetings. I don't think they are free if you pay online.

So far have lost 30lbs (in about 4 months including holiday weeks off!) and it has been v. easy tracking online. Once you get to know points values you don't need to track online - just keep a pad handy in the kitchen and keep a running total. I just use the online thing to track my weight every week and to look up unknown points values. I bought the books available from the website on shopping and eating out - that's all you need really.

You really can lose weight on 29 points - I am down to 26 and some days it's hard but even if I have the odd slip-up the weight loss is relatively constant. I don't use the 49 extra points as a friend who does go to the meetings said that people who use those points struggle to lose much after a while.

Thanks very much for your response, I really wondered how on earth I could lose weight eating that extra 49 points - that's a huge takeaway and a bottle of wine.

I'm going to try it for 3 weeks to see if I do lose, I think just tracking it will help me. I managed to eat all the points yesterday by enjoying a glass of wine and some popcorn Grin

that's the thing - you can save up a few points for the end of the day and then have a treat, and still lose weight! I tend to eat a treat szie pack of choc buttons - 2 points - in the evening and that satisfies the choc craving!

No-point soup and fruit salad are key really as they keep you full and generally feeling quite healthy. I eat bananas/grapes for snacks (no points) and have a meringue or WW greek-style lemon dessert (both @ 1 point) for pudding and that seems to leave me feeling as if I'm not on a diet! The WW ready meals are pretty yuk though and have more points in them than if you made the equivalent meal yourself...

Good luck!

I'm doing it online. I've lost just over a stone but haven't been doing it the last few weeks since having tonsilitus and then being away. Planning to restart on Monday (away this weekend too).

I tend to use free or very low point stuff for snacks (banana on ryvita for example) and have plenty of veg with tea. I still manage to use the 26 points a day though by not using the low calorie spray stuff they recommend - I still use olive oil/butter etc.

I try not to use the weekly points unless it's for something special (e.g. meal out, drink in the pub type of thing)

I'm doing it online - don't have much to lose - it was about half a stone but lost 4llbs in first week, although I don't think I will lose this week or if I do it will only be a lb. I struggle to keep to 26 points without being hungry to be honest, perhaps I need to try the soup. Can anyone let me know which soup they cook - the only ww soups I've made have been fairly grim to be honest. I hate dieting, it's so tedious but I also hate putting on that extra bit of weight and never getting rid of it.
I also find it hard to go through a whole week without at least one nice meal - eg this Saturday we are having a home made (non-ww) curry, so I do start to eat into my 49 extra points. On the other hand I also do quite a lot of exercise to try and make up for it.

Most home made soup is going to be zero points though isn't it - I'm making one today with onions, courgettes, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower - the only points are from the stock cube which is negligible if you make a few pints like I'm doing.
