Was it successful? What type of foods could you eat/not eat?

A colleague at work tried this and has lost 3 stone and just wondered if any MNetters would recommend it?

My colleague also lost 3 stone on it. I bought the book and the recipe book and really buy into her theorie. I did it for about a year but realised that apart from breakfast (porridge) I was basically lo carbing so have switched to that full time.

I was thinking of getting the book too but just wanted more info before I did. What types of food can you eat/not eat? Is it the type of recipes that I could give the DC...but with additions to their meals? I just don't want to have to cook separate meals :)

Hi,

Yes you can feed your whole family on these meals.

The general premise, after the first 5 days (which is to break your sugar addictions - just eggs, fish, meat, salad, veg, water etc) is to not combine carbs and fats in one meal. So you can have brown rice and pasta and potatoes with a list of foods that you can eat with either, or you can have meat, dairy, protein and fat products with again, foods you can eat with either (she gives a list) but you can't have carbs in the same meal as fats. For example, spaghetti and bolognese is out, as that is carbs with fats - but you can have bolognese sauce with brocolli.

The reason to split them is if you combine them your body will store the fat and use the carbs as fuel.

It does work, it's just a bit more complicated than low carb (for me anyway). I do recommend her.

Thanks for your advice Thegoddessblossom, I will seek out the book as soon as I can :)
