First post....so desperately hungry

Hi All
First post on mumsnet but long time lurker.
Unfortunately due to pregnancy, polycystic ovary syndrome, mobility difficulties, and having to take steroids for another illness, my weight at one point ballooned to almost 26 stone.
Obviously I was eating for England as well.
I lost eight stones over two years and then stopped losing. Completely.
I started the cambridge diet recently and hate it. I am starving all the time, feel weak and am constantly constipated. I also feel low in mood and energy and have to struggle not to be snappy with the kids. It has kickstarted my weight loss again but I feel ill, desperately hungry and am constantly in tears.
Thing is, my partner is getting stroppy with me for wanting to stop it. He shouts at me if I eat anything other than my shakes and it is wearing me down.
Does anyone know anything else apart from shakes only diets or gastric bypass that give a similar result?
thank you

Have a look at BIWIs bootcamp threads, I am only just starting out but am very overweight and struggle as I have dieted so much over the years and am menopausal too. I lost 6lb in my first week of this (and am not doing it brilliantly - I keep finding mistakes in what I am doing!) where I was not losing on calorie controlled diet and I am not as hungry on this.

My friend did Lighter Life, which is also shakes, but has struggled to maintain her weight since coming off them.

Your partner may be frustrated and have your best interests at heart but he should be more sympathetic and supportive. You have achieved a huge amount.

Yes, gluten free, low carb. It would help with your PCOS too.

Check out the various Bootcamp threads and the 'not Hardcore enough for Bootcamp' one to get an idea of what it entails.

It's a world away from the horror of liquid meal replacements and really works and the best thing... once you get adapted to it you don't feel hungry.

Thanks guys. Bootcamp...does it involve a lot of exercise? As I am slightly disabled I may find this difficult. I will check the threads.
I did low carb for ages (hence no gluten either) but I found my body just got used to it.
Ta for the replies

Nope, no exercise at all unless you want to. Gentle walking is good for you if you can manage that though.

Can just about do that! Thank you.
