DS is now 12 mo. I've marched behind the buggy every day for about an hour but I'm still 15lbs above prepreg weight and could do with losing around 20lbs. My eating is still "indulgent". I'm still bf-ing. Plus I'm tired from fairly regular night-wakings. I feel like I'm eating to keep going. I know that this is part of a vicious cycle and that I'll feel more energetic if I exercise and drop some pounds, but I can't work out how to start.

Pre-baby I'd have done this the fast and furious way with a busy exercise schedule and lots of food planning on the WW website. I don't have time for points etc. at the moment. And I can can't leave the house in the evening for exercise class and can only get childcare cover for 3 quick jogs a week during the day.

So, is weight loss too much to take on at this phase? Is a gradual plan the only realistic way forward? In short, how do you lose weight and look after a baby 24/7 at the same time?

I've finally started shifting some of the baby weight since DS turned 1 as he doesn't walk any more, he runs everywhere!! Although I was walking everywhere with the pram, it was always a very slow pace, so I'm trying to speed up now to raise my heart rate. Also, it hit me that I'd completely broken my "9 months on, 9 months off" view of baby weight, so felt like I would stay 2 stone overweight if I didn't start making an effort!

Food-wise, I'm terrible for not eating proper meals and just snacking all day, so now when DH makes his butties for work, he makes me some as well so I can either sit and eat them when DS has lunch, or more often than not I can just pick at them over the course of the day, so at least it's healthier than crisps and chocolate.

I never eat breakfast (just don't enjoy it) but if I'm hungry in the evening I have a bowl of cereal, it really fills me back up.

The change 4 life website has some fantastic recipes, they are never ones that take long to make but are nutritious, cheap, and suitable for baby as well so maybe look on there?

I've only done these little things and have lost a stone, just 14 lbs to go until I'm back to pre baby weight :)
