Yuck, does'nt help to address issues, two people i know lost 2-3 stone on it really quickly, but more back on just as quick when they stopped. Calorie count, exercise a bit if you can, works.

Quick fix, not sustainable and likely not very good for you.

Expensive, makes you miserable and boring, gives you gall stones and you'll put all the weight back on plus a bonus stone or two.

(just a snapshot of people I know)

I know a couple of people who lost loads of weight (about 8 stone each) on it.......and then once they stopped they piled it all back on and some more!!

I agree, not sustainable...at all...it's ok when you dont have to make food choices but as soon as my mates went back to being able to eat they just made the same old mistakes as before so had not addressed the issues at all.

There is a lady at the school who lost over 7 stone on it, a few years ago now, and she's not regained any of the weight. She has totally changed her routines though, and exercises as well. She took it with the right approach and knew that it was a quick weight loss, but to be bale to keep the weight off, major changes needed to take place.
She looks brilliant now, mind you she alwasy looked lovely bigger as well.

I tried it but the taste of the shakes/soups and bars is foul and i just couldnt swallow them. I lost 9 stone now using slimming world to start with and the last 3 stone have been with weight watchers. I find calorie control is more sustainable for me than, the idea of free foods, for some people the free food system can work, but for me my weight plateued at 15 stone and it didnt matter what i did i couldnt kick start a weight loss again, so i swapped to weight watchers and lost a further 4 stone. The weight watchers plan combined with using my fitness pal to keep track of what ive eaten and exercise means im not far from target now.

I think if you have a lot to lose (more than 3 stone?) then ok provided that you lose the last couple of stone through diet, because too easy to go back to old way of eating and regain the weight.

I have a friend who lost 8 stone doing lighter life in 8 months and then lost the last stone through diet and has maintained, but has to stick to low fat and low carb for maintenance.
