i am about two stone over where I would like to be - help!

Which is the best option for me?

i love food and have a very sweet tooth.

Portion control is a nightmare.

However, I do have willpower when I try.

I've tried most of diets - slimming world and weight watchers included. Weight watchers did work for me but was a very slow process. Over the last year I've put most of my weight back on and needed to lose 26lbs to get back to target weight. I tried eating healthy but it didn't go anyway. So in April I started on the Dukan Diet. I lost 16lbs in 6 weeks. At that point I went on holiday to Rhodes for 2 weeks and put back on 6lbs (but it was all inclusive and I ate a lot!). I'm now getting back into it! I'd highly recommend the Dukan Diet. It has had some bad reviews but if you buy the book and read it cover to cover it really does make a lot of sense - you have to stick to it though, no cheating. After the first few days your sweet tooth will disappear. I can't explain it except that even if someone gave you a bit of chocolate cake you just don't want to eat it. My husband joined me and lost 21lbs in 6 weeks. He only put 3lbs back on, on holiday! Not bad...

I don't recommend SW for anyone (like myself) who struggles with portion control. It was just a license for me to overeat huge jacket spuds and pasta etc. That said, people do get fast weight loss with it.
Paul McKenna will help you to learn about your appetite and help you with portion control.
I think you'll get quicker weight loss with SW than with PMK but I'd be concerned that once you've got to goal you'll still be struggling with portion sizes and overeating because of that. With PMK the loss may be slower but you'll be learning a way of eating that you can live with forever.
All of that said, PMK didnt work for me, for some reason my motivation to stick to the 4 Golden Rules wasn't high enough. But if I had to choose between the two I'd definitely go for PMK.

I have the paul mckenna book somewhere, and who knows, maye the CD too. So I might try that for a few weeks, and if not working head for sw or similar.

Thanks
