Stress and fat stomach

I have a healthy diet, don't drink excessively and exercise as often as I can but I just can't seem to get my stomach slim. In the past my stomach was one of my good assets.

I have been researching and fount a link to stress and stomach fat and I think that my daily life chores of managing a small business from home, two toddler boys and a busy working husband makes my stomach fat.

Can anyone relate and has anyone achieved results to reducing stress and stomach size?

From what I understand, it's about cortisol. Stress causes high levels of cortisol which encourages the body to store fat around the stomach?
When I'm doing well, I find regular exercise and a healthy diet is key. Acually what I thought was 'fat' was mostly bloating. When I eat a low sugar diet - actually I eat wheat free now as well- my stomach can be inches smaller!

Thanks for your experience. I have thought about wheat free, but it must be very difficult to cut out both sugar and wheat? I agree about the confusion with fat and bloating. I'm a big puff fish!

To be honest, I'm good with the wheat no choice now I've cut it out, it upsets me something chronic I'm not so good with the sugar! Confused. It's better to cook from scratch but I'm a lazy cook! I find if I work hard to keep my intake of sugar to a minimum I stop craving it after a few days. Try eating probiotic or natural yoghurt - that really helps me too!
Delicate question but how are your bowels? It might be worth seeing your GP if you get constipation or diarrhoea a lot - or swing between the two? Does the bloating come and go or is it constant?

You need to build up your core and exercise the abdominals. After children only a few lucky mums have the flat tummy.

I have read loads recently and ultra fit people who work out have cut carbs and eliminated sugar from their diet just to get rid of those lumpy bits.
