I would like an answer to this too!

I have a friend who is doing the program at the moment. She has lost a stone since early Feb.

tallmummy · 14/03/2006 19:50

I've lost 12lbs on no count so far.

Have now lost a stone on no count. I have been eating lots of soups and fruit but don't have time to make up many of the recipes they suggest. I keep forgetting to drink enough water though.

Well, I can answer my own question now! Have been doing this for 3 weeks and have lost 6.5 lbs. I find it very easy - fill up on porridge/cereal and banana for breakfast. Fruit during the morning then crispbreads, v low fat cheese spread and salad for lunch. sometimes have cup a soup as well, then yoghurt and more fruit if still hungry. More fruit and veg during the afternoon. Evening meals, often chilli or bolognese made with quorn mince, vegetable curry, chicken stir fry. Even made the easy lentil dahl from last week's handout which is gorgeous. have had it twice this week! fingers crossed for continued success for everyone.

Should add that evenings are the hardest; tonight I've been snacking on tomatoes and grapes (and Fruities of course). I like to save my 3 points per day and then share a bottle of wine and have some crisps/snack on a couple of evenings a week. Makes life more bearable somehow Smile

Brilliant Detta. When I was a Leader, I had a real job getting people to try No Count, because they hate not feeling 'in control'. Although I can understand that, being a 'pointer' myself, I do think that NC is a fantastic plan. One of my members got to goal, mainly using NC. She is no a leader, and I go to one of her classes! She looks fantastic, and always lost better on NC.

Keep it up!

Meant to say that you can make a relishy type dip for those tomatoes in the evening, out of free veg. Might make them seem more substantial.

I'm on points, and have lost weight - but as I'm doing it at home (no meetings etc.) don't know much about No Count - anyone have time to give me some pointers on how to start this?
Need to lose an extra 1.5 - 2 stone until mid June (moving to Croatia) - is this achievable even on points system???

Thanks for all the help :)

P.S. A tip for the mumsnetter who says she forgets to drink plenty of water - I was the same, then bought a bottle of Vittel one day and just kept refilling it with tap water and carrying it everywhere in my handbag - you won't forget once you do that as it actually becomes quite addictive. I easily go through 5-6 litres a day!!!

Hi, ive been doing no count for the last three weeks and have lost 10lb. i find it really easy. i use alot of gillian mckeith recipes. i usually ahve
Breakfast - porridge or home made museli
lunch - either quinoa, with peppers, celery, onions, chillies etc; or salad stuff with cottage cheese. in addition to this i make a big pan of soup and have abowl of this.

Dinner - chicken/fish and veg

Detta · 21/03/2006 20:50

Mrs Wood - basically there's a list of free food. You eat 3 meals a day, and at each one eat enough of the free food to make you feel full (but not over-full). In between meals you can snack on fruit, veg or WW Fruities sweets. You should also try to drink plenty of water and a pint of skimmed milk per day. In addition, you get 3 points per day, to spend however you like. Many people add to their meals, but I prefer to save mine for wine!! The free food list is basically fruit, veg, lean meat, pasta, rice, stock cubes, marmite, v low fat cheese and yoghurt. Basically, it's a low fat diet, but very healthy as you eat three meals a day (not skip breakfast so you can eat a Mars bar later!) Is this enough info to get you going?

absolutely delta, thank you.

You can have the 21 points a week (not specifically 3 a day) on anything, and can save them to use at the weekend if you need a take-away etc. You need to work on what is called the 'Hunger Zone' where you never let yourself get starving, and you never get past the point of being comfortably full. Think of it as a range between 0 and 5. Zero is when you would eat a table leg and 5 would be after a Christmas meal. Try to stay between 2-3.
