Have just been looking at our chart and I thought we could get a bit of friendly competitiveness going to spur us on.

There's a few of us who are nearing the one stone loss mark Dustanyone only has 1lb to go (good for you and a huge well done), myself, Chickenrice and Tortoise have lost 11lbs and Sylvev is at 10lbs. So, come on girls, let's see who can crack the big ONE WHOLE STONE next

Furball and Figleaf, the charts are still fab and a big motivator Thank you

busywizzy · 23/02/2006 20:50

Maybe I shouldn't have suggested that on the night I've eaten a chinese take-away for tea In my defence DH is out and children had tea with childminder. Surely no-one else would have cooked a healthy tea just for one

Went back to work this week and all my trouser suits fit me (haven't worn them in ages since I was preggers with DS) Feel great as everyone was asking how I'd managed to loose all my baby weight (ha ha, if only they knew how horrible it all looks underneath the clothes) It has really spurred me on to loose that final 3lb

tortoise · 23/02/2006 20:54

Hi busy wizzy.I think thats a great idea. come on everyone, lets try really hard this week!! When i first started on here there were always lots on this thread, now seems quiet.Good luck all.

busywizzy · 23/02/2006 20:56

Tortoise, I check here most days so let's keep each other updated on how we're doing and see if we can't shift that 3lb together.

Anyone else who wants to join us is more than welcome

tortoise · 23/02/2006 20:59

Im also here most days.(think ive become addicted to mn!).Ive done a fair bit of walking this week but really need to find some other exercise to do.Good luck on losing the 3lbs.

Dustanyone · 23/02/2006 21:03

I've been checking this thread regularly too... agree its gone a bit quiet but enjoy receiving the chart every week (thanks furball and figleaf!)

busywizzy · 23/02/2006 21:06

I haven't done much 'real' exercise this week but going back to work has kept me busy for most of the time as I seem to rush around a lot, rather than sitting on the floor entertaining DS I've also not been tempted to snack as I just haven't had the time.

I don't work Fridays, so tomorrow I'm planning on doing my Davina exercise video when DS has his lunchtime nap and on Sunday, I'm taking DD jogging to help her train for a fun run she's doing soon. Hopefully, that will shift a few calories.

DD and I have signed up to do Race for Life in June so even once I've lost the 3lb, I'm going to keep up the running so who knows, I may be posting a two stone loss one day - ha ha ha ha ha a ha ha

busywizzy · 23/02/2006 21:08

Hey Dustanyone - you're doing great, you must be really chuffed. Are you just eating healthily or are you exercsing lots.

tortoise · 23/02/2006 21:18

Ive been thinking about getting a exercise dvd but sooo many to choose from.I dont know whats best!Got a fairly small living room so cant jump around too much!!Dont think I could do a fun run!

busywizzy · 23/02/2006 21:27

I'd recommend the Davina Power of 3 to anyone (as long as she doesn't get on your nerves ) It's an hour long but broken into three sections, so you could do short bursts if you preferred.

Her new one is 3 sessions half an hour each and is also good I hear.

Not sure I can do a Fun Run either but I suppose I'll find out soon enough

Off to catch up on last nights Desperate Housewives. Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow.

tortoise · 23/02/2006 21:32

Thanks for that Busywizzy.I will go and look for it now.Any excuse to spend more money!!!

tortoise · 23/02/2006 21:50

Dvd ordered and delivery in 24-48hrs.Watch out body!

Dustanyone · 23/02/2006 21:57

Busywizzy, I'm following weightwatchers. Not finding it too difficult at the moment... I want to be thin for the Summer!

I have been jogging once a week... I'm doing Race for Life in June too! Mind you, was jogging all over Christmas as well but still managed to put on nearly a stone over Christmas!

hullabaloo · 23/02/2006 22:07

I'm doing Race for Life too. I've put down that I'll walk it but have managed to coax a much younger more enthusiastic person to do it with me and she's talking about jogging ! I have really dodgy knees for running and cycling type activities so I don't know how I'll get on with that but I'll give it a go!

Iagree with everyone about this thread going quiet.. I think I was much better when I was posting a food diary and reading other people's ideas for snacks and exercise. I'm trying to do a 6 mile walk each weekend, an aquafit class and a gym session each week. This week I've managed to do none of those so i need to get my finger out! Some of the staff at work have been playing badminton at the end of the day and i said I would join in with that too.

I'm full of good intentions me!!!!

unicorn · 24/02/2006 10:26

I'm getting very disheartened
Why do you get stuck at a weight?
I am just not losing anything now and it is so demoralising.... what can I do? (I know I should, but I just don't feel like execrcising when it is so cold)

I need some motivation and inspiration...

help!!!

Furball · 24/02/2006 10:33

Have you tried writing a food diary of everything that passes your lips? That can sometimes upturn something. Post it on here and I'm sure someone will give ideas.

Also what about portion sizes? That can be another downfall.

Me and my big mouth

Having spurred everyone onto being the next to loose a stone, I've had a rubbish day foodwise, I drank hardly any water (trying now to think if I actually drank any ) and I didn't do the exercise I'd planned.

I felt completely shattered from my first week back at work so when DS went to sleep after lunch, so did I Definately going to take DD running this weekend though.

Unicorn, don't be down - you're doing so well and you've done better than me on the alcohol front. Just remember, the slower it comes off, the less likely it is to go back on I try and stick to three proper meals a day and a mid-morning and afternoon snack, which is usually fruit. If I feel tempted, I have something instead of my snacks so at least I'm not eating bad things on top of everything else.

Mostly, I try and not get too down when I have a bad day (like today), I just think I will try harder tomorrow and usually that works. Saying that, I don't feel like I'm making much progress at the moment so I know I have to step up the exercise - urrrggghhh

How has everyone else done today?

busywizzy · 24/02/2006 21:06

The other thing I do is plan all our meals for the week in advance. That way, I can get everything ready before I leave for work (I get stuff out of the freezer and set the oven to come on so don't have to wait half an hour for it to warm up) and then I'm less tempted to buy a take-out because I don't know what to cook. Doesn't always work mind

tortoise · 24/02/2006 22:13

Have been good all day with food,no exercise though. Then spoilt it by having curry (out of a can!) and chips. On the plus side my deep fat fryer uses light and mild olive oil so i assume thats healthier. Not organised enough to plan meals.Hope u have a better day tomorrow.

busywizzy · 25/02/2006 18:54

Well not too bad today. Had cereal for breakfast, tuna tortilla wraps at lunchtime, a slice of cake in the afternoon and plan to have pork for tea with boiled potatoes and veg (which I must go and start cooking) Made pizza and garlic bread with DD this afternoon for the childrens' tea and resisted the temptation to eat any.

Didn't run today as planned as DD, who is normally so enthusiastic about this, wasn't feeling too good and didn't want to go out. Plan to go tomorrow, with or without her

Hope everyone else is doing OK this weekend.

busywizzy · 26/02/2006 18:28

I did it ...... I went running with DD today I ran about a mile and a half and I have to admit that it almost killed me DD (aged 8) out-ran me massively and did three laps of the track to my two She also tripped over half way round the first lap and I was so glad to have an excuse to stop running

Oh well, I've made a start that's the main thing and now we're going to go each Sunday and once in the week after school once the evenings get lighter.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend.

tortoise · 26/02/2006 20:39

Well done busywizzy! Glad you got out for your run today.Ive just done lots of cleaning instead of exercise.Had a roast for tea.Lots of veg.

MrsSpoon · 26/02/2006 20:43

I'm sorry I've been rubbish so far, haven't even weighed in the last couple of weeks. After being ill I ate just about everything in sight and now am having a bout of IBS (something which has been under control for a while). I know I really need to get my eating back on track and will join you all again, probably a week on Tues.

You are all doing so well! Going to have a read at your posts for inspiration!
