Anyone tried the Cambridge diet?

Am thinking about trying the Cambridge diet. Got about 2 and a half stone to lose. Already lost 3 stone with WW but struggling to lose the last bit as I'm a newly single mum, working full time and I'm struggling to find the time to prepare decent meals. Anyone tried the Cambridge diet ?

You will lose the weight, and then put it straight back on. Extremely low calorie diets like this don't work in the long term. Avoid.

This is what I thought might happen. Wish I could wake up skinny!

It's flippin' amazing! I went on it a few years ago and lost two stone quite fast. Managed to then keep the weight off for two years as I got used to not snacking.

I then got pregnant and put some weight back on, I'd like to go on the diet again but can't afford to at the moment.

Best diet I've ever tried!

I lost 3 stone on this diet,

First 3 days hard - get to first weigh in and then you have cracked it.

I liked this diet as the less you had to lose the more you would eat until you are at the healthy 2000 cals (can't remember) per day. It does retrain you complelety in how to eat.

In the 18 months since I stopped I have put 1/2 a stone back on but no more

Oooh persuading stories. Think I might give it ago. Scared of fucking up my metabolism though!

Ignore Bunbaker. These diets DO work IF and ONLY IF you change the way you reintroduce food and the way you eat for the rest of your life. You will be doing a very low calorie, ketogenic diet which means no carbs and low calorie. When you reintroduce food if you eat more than you personally need to maintain that weight then OF COURSE you will put on weight much the same as anyone who follows any diet. At five and a half stone overweight you must have been eating way above your body's needs and therefore you simply cannot go back to that way of eating once you finish Cambridge.

The other thing to think about it how quickly you might lose it at Cambridge, sometimes it is too quick for people's heads to keep up with and this reason is more likely the reason you go straight back to your old ways - you haven't taken enough time to retrain your body to eat less. However that being said, seeing as you have been dieting some time already on WW maybe you might be in a better frame of mind? One thing I would say is if you do decide to take the plunge don't go back into eating in a WW way, go back to eating in a low carb, low sugar way. In fact you might do better to save your money and go straight to BIWI's boot camp thread, it's not that disimilar in theory to Cambridge but you eat food not packs.
