Slimming World online and breastfeeding

I'm thinking of joining Slimming World online. I'd like to lose 1.5 stone overall.

I'm breastfeeding my 5mo DD so I'm attracted by the fact carbs seem to be 'free'

Has anyone done SW whilst breastfeeding? Did you lose weight? Is the online system any good? It's a lot more expensive than Weight Watchers but I'm concerned I'd cut my carbs too much with WW.

So many questions....sorry....!

I am doing SW and bf (as I type, actually :) ).

I don't know about the money, as am using info from a friend, but in terms of weightless, am 5 foot 4, begun at 10 stone 11, and in the past ten and a half weeks have lost 16lbs. Only 5
more to my goal weight.

I haven't found it hard to lose this weight - although you get a bit extra and are encouraged to eat all your syns every day, I won't always have the advantage of bf calorie-burning-wise, though I waited till dd was on potentiamyl supply.

Aargh bloody phone! Should say wanted dd to be on some solids first so supply not a problem. Doesn't seem to have been affected at all.

Re carbs, I also could never give them up. Doing extra easy means you should dedicate one third of each meal to fruit and veg, thus encouraging some portion control carbwise. I found the unlimited carb potential has allowed me to begin to way much more healthily again, addressing portion control gradually as I have begun to lose weight iyswim, and I have got to the point where I am definitely eating smaller portions of everything quite easily. I feel that bf
Might have helped due to my body needing more calories so have a bit more leeway and can see results
Much quicker.

I have had plenty of cheats, too, which would've been much harder to absorb if I wasn't bf. Weight loss has def not been drastic, but I wouldn't want it to be - nearly every day I have eaten to the max of my allowance.

In short, it has been great timing for me and not affected dd at all. I even started c25k last week too. Good luck!

Thanks lindy. 16lb in 10 weeks is fantastic! Well done you!

I've lost quite a bit of weight without doing anything but now she's 5mo I feel I should stop coasting with cake and actually address the extra stone or so I've carried for the past 10 years! At 5 foot 7 I rely way too much on the few extra inches of height to hide the many inches of extra tummy!

Thanks again for your post, I'm going to give it a go.

No problemo. I didn't say that dd was five and a half months when I started. I don't have a height advantage - only 5.3 - but was definitely enjoying way too many flapjacks (prob two a day Shock). Now I feel so much better - digestion is so much better, after being horrible after giving birth.

And I find it easier now to control overeating. For example, today went to prezzo with dm and df. Had pasta arrabiatta, wasn't tempted to share the bread starter and held off pudding. Mind you, that's cos I'm having a big fat steak tomorrow!

Good luck with it, looking forward to hearing how you're getting on.
