Tummy after 3 c sections

Hi , i've had 3 sections and no matter how much weight i loose my tummy is never really very good any more.
I exercise at the gym and go swimming and my stomach tones a bit but at the bottom there is a overhang and like a spare bit of skin on my sides that doesn't really know what to do.
Has anyone any tips? i'm thinking it's not going to improve as my eldest is 9 and youngest is 2 .

Hi, I have only had one section and a VBAC but I also have the overhang you describe. Mine is adorned with stretch marks which recently prompted my 5 year old DD to announce in very public loos 'mummy your tummy is all wrinkly'. Anyway, I run and eat reasonably and still can't shift the bugger so would love to know too. Think my tummy muscles have also separated cos my belly button looks like the black hole.
Just realising how unhelpful this is. Sorry

Thanks, not helpful no lol.
It's nice to know i'm not on my own though! I think i may try this shred thingy then off to transform or the like for a consultation!

3 cs here too and I think you are stuck with the overhang TBH unless you go for cosmetic surgery.

I had one VB and one CS. I don't have an overhang (CS scar under pubic hair line) but my tummy muscles were completely shot and I looked about 6 months pregnant. I was sent to physio, where they said I would probably need surgery.

Then I got into a training program where I was followed by a doctor, dietician, and trainer. Lost 10 kgs, went down two dress sizes, and started running. My tummy is not flat but I don't look pregnant anymore, and I'm still a size 38.

Previously, I was also going to the gym and all that, but it took that one big push to pull my body back together.

Cote - where oh where do we find such a program ? I have had 3 x CS and am almost at point of surgery as Im so fed up Sad

You need to address the abdominal separation TooMuch. I have had two emcs (5yrs ago and 7 months ago respectively). Just losing the weight left me with the overhang. About 4 months ago I started the Tupler technique to correct the diastasis and it's made a huge difference. Crepey skin and road map won't go but I've nearly beaten the overhang, the gap and the mummy tummy. I have quite a flat, toned tummy now. I exercise a lot and eat well too. Just to be clear. It's not a miracle sadly.

Duritz - This was a program at our local sports hospital, aimed at professional sports people but available to laymen like me, as well. They don't do it anymore, unfortunately.

TooMuch,
I also had the separation after 3 huge babies all but destroyed my muscles. My youngest is almost 12. I had tried (half hearted) to repair it with exercise before but didn't see much improvement so I always gave up.
Around mid Jan this year I decided to teach myself to use the 8KG kettlebell, that my other half had bought himself and left sitting in the corner :) It's best to go to a class but I learnt fine from youtube and other sites, almost all the movements you make involve your core muscles, it is also claimed that it burns 1200 cals an hour/400 for 20 mins, I can believe that because OMG does it get you sweating. If anyone is going to buy one I would suggest trying a 6KG first, you need it to be heavy but 8 was a little heavy for some movements at first.
Anyway, the separation that I had has almost closed completely now and feels so much stronger as well as my tummy looking flatter because of it.
I also do a few warm up exercises for waking up my core that have helped too

  • The cat vomit- on hands and knees, push yourself upwards while keeping planted to the floor and suck in your navel as if trying to make it touch your spine, your back will arch (like a cat vomiting lol I don't know the real name for it) hold for as long as you can, relax then repeat 10/15/20 x whatever you can do
  • floor bridges- This one is good for bums too, lie on back with feet flat on floor so your knees are now bent. Arms alongside your body. using your heels pushing into the floor and squeezing your bum push up off the floor. keep back straight. While in this position again suck your navel to your spine and hold, lower back to floor, relax and repeat as many times as possible. Advanced form of this- while in the top position slowly raise one leg to the roof and back down.

Another bonus I got from KB's too.....maybe going to be a bit too much info here but hey I'm among the ladies:)
My pelvic floor muscles have improved like 80% not only do I notice with the amount of times I used to visit the loo to pee daily but certain places have became tighter! :) :) I didn't expect this to happen and I was honestly contemplating using the kegal ball thingies a few months ago
