The Last Stone.

I lost 5.5 stone last year between January and September. I've maintained since, and seem to be able to eat what I like (within reason) and stay this size.

My original target was 12 stone (I thought any more than that would be impossible) but it was actually pretty easy to get to 10.8 stone. (started at more than 16!)

I would like to get another stone off, and tone up around the middle in particular.

I did the previous weight loss through mindfulness and a bit (nothing more than walking) of exercise.

Anyone got any good ideas for kick starting for this last bit? When I started I lost a stone a week for a couple of weeks, then it slowed right down until now, when I fluctuate by about 3lb either side of 10 stone 8. Obviously need to restrict calories and exercise, but I don't want to mess up metabolism any more than I have already with years of obesity and yoyoing. I was considering a week of slimfast or similar just to get back in the right mind set, but not sure really.

Anyone else in the same position?

I'm trying to get the last stone off, I'm on a very small thread new year new me lose a stone and tone. You're very welcome to join us for a bit of support.

I'm using myfitnesspal logging everything I eat and drink, I get 1500 calories a day (I'm breast feeding) minimum calories anyone should have is 1200. Also doing 30day shred, makes a great difference to toning.

I am in the same position as you. I lost 4 stone 4 pounds last year and now weigh 9 stone 3 pounds but am only 5 foot 1 inch. I didn't do any exercise and the weight has come of more evenly than I expected. I would like to lose half a stone and think the only way I can is to go back to strict low carbing until Easter. I kind of think it is now or never as I started the diet last Easter so it will a whole year start to finish then I can get a plan to maintain it. I find if I do exercise it makes me really hungry and messes everything up.

Forgot to say congrats on your weight loss.

I would say make sure you get enough protein best way to make sure you keep metabolism going. Aim for 100g of protein a day. Don't do slimfast! Plus plenty of veg (go easy on root veg) cut out sugars. A couple of pieces of fruit if fruit important to you.

If you want to follow a specific diet either dukan or even better lean and clean diet.

I start every day with scrambled eggs (means I don't get hungry again until late afternoon, which is handy!)

I've refused to do any low-cal diet foods the whole way through, because I was convinced that's why diets haven't worked in the past - so the whole year of "dieting," it was eggs or eggs and bacon with toast, and with butter! I ate a lot of salad, but have found it tricky to fancy it across the winter - soups also feature highly and more toast.

Just need to get back on the wagon - it's not about denial, I can never deny myself anything, because my (very mature) response to that is to e.g. eat all the biscuits and some cake to wash them down. It's almost like tricking my Id all the time! (Yes, inner child, you SHALL have some choccies, just wait 5 mins and see if you still want them, 'K?)

sigh wanna be a skinny bird. Grin

(I'm 5'7 BTW, so am looking reasonably trim at 10.8, but I have 3-massive-baby-belly and love handles, WOE.)

I don't actually think its such a good idea metabolism-wise from breakfast to late afternoon.

Cut out wheat and processed carbs to get rid of the belly. If you can't cut it out then learn to live with the tummy.

I am now the "skinny bird" but the sacrifice is long term moderate carb diet.
