In a months time I will be on holiday.
Since I last saw my friend two years ago I have put on two stone. She hasn't put on an ounce.

OK I'm not going to lose all that but I thought I hadcut down a lot since Christmas - no biscuits, only having a alcohol at weeekends if I had gone out. (used to drink nearly every night)

I've not lost a lb!!!

Need to step things up to look a bit better.

Help, I guess I know what I should do but having other people spell it out would help motivate.

Also I am a veggie.
I have a size 12 Audrey Hepburn style dress that I can JUST about get on. I would love to be able to wear that.

Shred, low carb and couch25k

You will be in that dress ( with some of that pull you in underwear stuff)

I knew what you were going to say Grin I just needed to hear it!!!! ( well see it)

Better get up and make a start then!!

Sometimes the thought of what I have to do intimedates me into doing nothing - like I am paralized by the enormity of what I've got to do.
Low carbing isn't that easy for veggies at times. I don't fancy eggs in any shape or form for breakfast, I'll go and see if I've got any tofu hidden away somewhere!!

Have you read the Paul McKenna book? (I can make you thin)

I got it a few months ago in desperation, both me and DH really needed to lose the baby weight Smile

It's terrific, it goes against all the other advice out there, there's no dieting or complicated routines, just changing the way you think about food. Mostly, only eating when you're actually hungry, eating smaller portions, but eating what you want. Drinking lots of water because sometimes when you think you're hungry you're actually just dehydrated.

It's very French actually!

It's worked great, DH lost 10 kilos in 2 months, I lost a bit less but that's with getting absolutely no exercise from being ill/overworked. The weeks where I got even a little exercise I could fit in my old clothes!

I didn't really eat that much before but it still helped a lot. Worth a shot!

No I've not read it but I have heard about it.
I'm going off to Amazon to have a look!! Grin

I was about to say Paul McKenna - we have a thread here if you want some moral support!

Also Shred.

upahill · 04/02/2012 11:28

I have the shred.

I struggle (unbelievabley) fit it in my day.
I have people living with me until the end of March (two lads in their early twenties and their mother) and not much room so I feel self concious (unreasonably I know) I have done it a few times but I understand that I need to be consistant
On top of that I work unregular hours and sleep over at work.

I do cycle about 24 miles xtwice a week and swim 50 lengths x2 a week.
But not lost a lb!!! Sad

I am going wrong somewhere and I can't see it.

I have even stopped eating out as much as I used to - we used to go out up to three times a week and I stopped because it wasn't that the food choices were bad but I enjoyed two wine and lemonades with it. So I have stopped that habit and only eat out after a hockey game.

If you are serious about wearing that dress ditch the carbs and have no alcohol. I know not everyone would agree but concentrate more on portion size and less on the exercise. You need to shrink your appetite.
That's how I lost a third of my body weight in 8 months.
Good luck.
