what others have said really - not cloe to enough protein.

breakfast one toast with some protein, cottage cheese, eggs, ham, beans ormake porridge withskimmed milk.

lunch not too bad

Dinner no protein at all! UNless some protein you didn't mention.

You can calculate how much protein you should be getting for a healthy diet based on your height. I'll look for it

here: weight in pounds by .37 so average woman needs about 60gr of protein.

Your body can't store protein so if you don;t eat enough you start breaking down muscle tissue to get it within a day or two.

you can't cut fat out completely - its not healthy and nuts have lost of minerals in them (just don;t eat them by the handful and you'll be fine!)

My breakfast this morning was cottage cheese with a tablespoon of raisins and about 6 almonds chopped.

nuts have calaries but are "good value" calaries because of all the vits and mins that help your metabolism. No more than a handful a day is the general rule, a couple with an apple here, a few in a salad there, they're great!

UltimateHumungosaur · 31/01/2012 13:04

Ok have worked out that 1500 cals a day is right. I should be aiming for no more than 41g fat, 82-164g protein and 375g carbs.

Does that sound right? They seem quite high compared to what I have been having. I need to find more high protein foods I am not a huge meat eater nor egg lover sadly, I shall investigate quorn which I do like.

need more and mopre protein especially

what about some red meat in the stirfry to give you iron?

have nuts instead of carrot cake

egg for breakfast

add fruit to a natural yoghurt rather than those overprocessed ones, or have a chunk of cheese instead, can you stomach cottage cheese?

ReduceRecycleRegift · 31/01/2012 13:10

you can add protien with almond powder, fetta (a little goes a long way), bit of greek yogurt

another thing about nuts is they keep you feeling full and not craving so a much better use of calaries than diet bars and yogurts!

fat is good (the right kinds of fat), it makes you feel full and keeps you from craving sugar!

Kewcumber · 31/01/2012 13:11

cottage cheese and other low fat cheese
lean meat, chicken and fish
pulses (throw hefty handful of red lentils into veggie stew if you don't like meat) and don't forget chickpeas
eggs
milk (preferably skimmed) and yoghurts
quorn and tofu and other soya products
nuts

Theres trace protein in lots of cereal food but I don;t tend to count that.

Thats all I can think of offhand.
