Anybody want to share their top tips for diet friendly foods easily found in supermarkets?

I found agave syrup in Asda. Am using it in low fat Greek yoghurt with flax seeds.

Bernard Matthews turkey ham... is utterly delicious and almost calorie free.

Garlic and herb Philadelphia light, used instead of butter on baked potatoes.

Flora 'lightest' spread, hard to find sometimes but Asda always have it.

Rich tea biscuits, 35 cals each

Going for gold, are you me? I buy almost all that stuff! Must admit I do prefer m&s light choc mousse to cadburys though, m&s is actually my local food shop as I am vair posh :)

Read today about these newfangled frozen jacket pots, this could change my life - no more emergency oven chip dinners for me! Do they taste ok?

These soups they do in sainsburys. They come in single serving tubs and are more like the Innocent Pots in that they have shredded veg and noodles in them too. The ones I have tried this week are vegetable gyoza, hoi sun shredded duck and chicken laksa. All 250-300 cals and very filling plus a serving of veg :)

GoingForGoalWeight · 21/01/2012 22:54

I can't taste as i'm on the Cambridge diet. But they smell divine and the skins seem nicely baked light and fluffy centre. I'm going to stock up whilst they are £1 trial price.
M&S salads are lovely,

Prawns are lovely as a snack, salmon too

Mackeral, kippers all free on slimming world as long as don't mix carbs with protein - no pasta or pots.

Branston baked beans are nice, worcester sauce.

Yums :)

I've found all Asda cereals to be as good or better than kellogs. Porridge, bran flakes, all bran etc for me. Am getting those frozen pots tomorrow.

OOh Morris let me know what you think of the potatos :)

Cereals make me hungry. I've heard Asda cereals are good, I think next time i go to Asda which is rare as the nearest is 12 miles away, I'll buy a few boxes. My DS loves cereal.

Swartz do a lovely tomato and caper saucein a pouch usually kept by the fish counter. Meant for fish but i love it on pasta too :) It is very very low in fat and calories and tastes superb.

ThePopsicleKat · 24/01/2012 15:55

Sugar free jelly sachets - one sachet is supposed to be 4 servings of 8 calories each, so just 32 calories for a big bowl. Sweet, light and satisfying. I rely on these.

foreverondiet · 24/01/2012 23:26

Tin Chopped tomatoes
Cottage Cheese
Fat Free Yoghurt
Whatever veg is on offer - mountains of it!
Skinny cow or similar esp when on offer
Frozen berries to add to the yoghurt
Frozen & tinned fish
Eggs
Pulses
Quorn mince and chicken style pieces

I prefer not to eat processed food!

VivaLeBeaver · 24/01/2012 23:31

Sugar free jelly in a pot, don't need to make it up and iirc 8 cals a pot.

Heinz Ravioli for a quick lunch.

Tinned mackerel.

Morrisons do pots of soup for £1 which are nice.

Lots of salad with ham and boiled eggs. Balsamic vinegar for a dressing.

I've been to m&s today and stocked up on some fuller for longer ready meals.
