I bought the Shred last January, did it for about 8 days then put it back on the shelf intending to get do it again "tomorrow".....fast forward a year and guess what, tomorrow still hasn't come! I've lost 17lbs at Slimming World since last May, and have put about 5-6lbs back on over Xmas. Am getting properly back on plan this week to shift about a stone-and-a-half-ish, also determined to get the Shred back in the dvd player, rather than the shelf Grin....what I'd love to know is, what results did you see when you did the Shred? I know what the dvd cover says, but I'd love to hear your own experiences ..........TIA Smile

I was just prodding my spongy thighs in bed this morning, remembering how tight and toned they'd been when I shredded for a whole month. I saw results fast, and felt fitter, could run faster and more easily very quickly. It's a brilliant fitness workout IMO, though strangely seems only to work if you do it.

Moodykat · 17/01/2012 22:59

I've only been doing it for two days and my result is that I ache a lot. Does that help?!Grin

foreverondiet · 18/01/2012 07:33

I bought it last year and used it as well as gym and running.

Am def shredded now, core is much stronger, v good muscle tone.... can see my abs, tight and toned thighs, lovely arms etc etc but I have really pushed myself on it, now can do most exercises with 4kg weights, can do full push ups.

Just do it, now part of my evening routine, I agree should see some results within a month but other results (ie ab definition) will only be apparently when you get excess weight off.

I have just bought ripped in 30 doing that now!

TwoNoisyBoys · 18/01/2012 12:19

Thank you all very much - Moody yeah, I vaguely remember that feeling! I'm hoping that with some inspirational stories I'll get back on it sooner rather than later, so thanks racingheart and forever - this is just the stuff I need to hear!

Agree with forever, it gets arms in shape really quickly. And thighs.

TheEndlessArete · 19/01/2012 19:23

I'm shredded and loved it. Was only doing it with jars of Chicken tonight so have just bought weights and now and going through all of it again with higher weights, and trying to master the bits I found hard first time through... can deffo see results !!

TwoNoisyBoys · 19/01/2012 20:13

Thanks everyone, am definitely going to get this out again - I keep telling myself "this time next month you could be shredded!!!" Did anybody experience any weight-loss, or was it all toning up? I bought some weights last time I started it, but think they could do with being a bit heavier. Does anyone do JUST the Shred and see results, or do you combine it with other exercise?

I've seen great results alrady, and am only half way through. Lost about 6lbs so far, which has dropped my BMI from 27 (overweight) to just hovering over 25. So nearly ideal. Woohoo! I have muscles where I didn't even know they could be, and I feel great.

Try it again. It is worth it. I've found the transition to level 2 hard going, but generally I felt I 'got into it' about 11 days in. As in I got into the routine/habit of doing it by that time. Good luck with it. I actually kind of like it now... Shock

foreverondiet · 19/01/2012 20:18

i did it at same time as diet. and triathlon training!

i'm not convinced you'd see much in way of weight loss without diet though because i thing each session only burns about 200 cals.

MountainDew · 19/01/2012 20:21

I only do this. Plus radical diet overhaul - wholegrains, leafy greens, low sugar, no snacks, seconds, or starbucks! And smaller portions.

I walk about 4 miles a day 3 days a week. Other than that I do nothing. I really want to. If the Shred has shown me anything it is how much I was lying to myself about my fitness. I am going to start swimming regulary and have been looking at exercise classes too. I enjoy exercise now!

TwoNoisyBoys · 19/01/2012 20:47

I'm properly back on track with Slimming World this week, and I'm starting back on the long walks next week as well, so we seem pretty similar MountainDew,well, apart from our BMI Grin......... Forever, Triathlon training?!! Wow! You deserve to look fab with a routine like that! I've never, ever had regular exercise as part of my life (not since I was a kid) but I stopped smoking almost two years ago, and feel confident that I'm getting on top of my weightloss, so I hope that this will change - thanks for all your advice Smile

Ive just finished day 6 and can definately feel the difference to day 1, but cant see any difference in me just yet.

I am calorie counting, but thats it ATM. Ive decided that Im going to do one step at a time. Come summer I plan to be running, eating healthily (more than just calorie counting - might go back to SW) and shredding with higher weights. If I try to change too much I will never stick to it so slowly and steady for me.

I am currently using 1KG weights, but did buy a pack of 3 so am thinking that I will start again with 1.5 KG weights when Ive finished my first 30 days and progress to 2KG weights then buy some more Grin Will see how it pans out though.

Rollergirl1 · 19/01/2012 21:13

I started the Shred mid-november and carried on through December until Christmas. I also did the Dukan diet/low carbing for a bit and lost 7lbs.

I definitely noticed a difference in muscle tone in my arms and my core and I lost some inches from my waist (not sure how many as didn't measure but was noticeable). My legs have always been very toned from running and swimming so not so much of a difference there.

I put on a few lbs over christmas so am back to low carbing for a bit. I have also just started doing Ripped in 30. Foreverondiet, what do you think of it? Have only done 3 days of Week 1 and my legs are really aching! Surprised about that as my legs are usually my strong area. Not even sure which exercises are responsible, possibly the fast tippy-toes thing? Or maybe even some of the strength ones where you're bending down? Am really liking the diversity but find Jillian's preaching a bit irritating!
