Hi, I joined WW today, been given loads of info and some tasty looking recipes. But I just dont get the points system.
How can a yorkshire pudding be the same as just 1 tbsp of peas?
How can cous cous be higher than plain white pasta?
And why doesnt my points allowance change depending on how much exercise i get in each wk? or is exercise just seen as an added bonus?
And whats with the old folk knitting?! And how do i get a gold membership like them?!

Hi Flojo, there are lots of WW on here but I am not sure if they knit Hmm. The propoints system has been devised after a toone of research, which if you read everything they give you in the starter pack is explained somewhere. basically the propoints differance relates to how much energy is left AFTER the food has been broken down by the body - so a simple carb like a sugary cake made with white flour would digest quicker (and thus have more calories left for body to use/lay down as fat) than say a high fibre cereal bar of the same starting calorie amount as high fibre items take more effort t digest. You will notice that foods that are generally healthier and/or high fibre are lower in propoints.

Your points allowence changes as you lose weight, unless you are already on the minimum of 26 a day. Activity points are a bonus Smile

Gold membership when you get to goal and complete maintenace! No knitting at my class, lots of talk about wine though Grin

Ooh just found this on the WW website. Its very techy and you won't need to remeber it ,unless you are planning on explaining the sciece behind propoints to another new member Grin
